INDIANAPOLIS -- In a stunning move, Colts All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard was waived by the team Tuesday, a decision prompted by his declining performance after recent injuries.

Leonard, who returned to the lineup this season after two back surgeries in 2022 to correct nerve issues, was getting inconsistent playing time as he tried to play his way into form. His uneven performance and ongoing recovery prompted coaches to remove him from the lineup on third downs and had him, at times, splitting earlier snaps with E.J. Speed -- decisions that did not sit well with Leonard.

Scrap heap LB?

Irsay, on his arrest in '14

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jim-irsay-blames-his-2014-arrest-on-police-prejudice-against-white-billionaires

Quote"I am prejudiced against because I'm a rich, white billionaire," Irsay told Andrea Kremer on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. "If I'm just the average guy down the block, they're not pulling me in, of course not."

Asked by Kremer how he thinks it sounds for a white billionaire to claim that he's a victim of prejudice, Irsay stood by his comment.

"I don't care what it sounds like. It's the truth," Irsay said. "You know, Andrea, I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. The truth is the truth and I know the truth."

Hooo-boy.  Jim might do well to stfu.

What a clown.

Yeah he's so oppressed. Give me a break, Jim.

Rome

Hahaha.  Why rich white iceholes are literally the worst thing in the universe.

PhillyPhreak54

Reich has been fired.

That owner is going to find it hard to get a top coach there bc he's trigger happy on firing. A

Bring him back as O.C., please

MDS

frank completely fell off a cliff after that jags game

did great with luck, survived the year he up and quit, made the playoffs with washed up rivers, nearly made it with god awful wentz...then they lose that game and since that point hes been putrid. bryce young cant play, but thats not an excuse - he was bad

the quote he gave the observer made it seem like hes done
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah he's collecting two checks for being fired and he's 62. I'd probably retire as well.

I wonder where Duce ends up? And what were the circumstances to his Detroit departure. He was assistant HC there too

Quote from: PhillyPhreak54 on November 27, 2023, 02:03:45 PMDuce was whacked too.

And McCown. Reich staffed the whole joint up with ex-Eagles.

Rome

That owner is a jackass.  Firing a guy after three months on the job is just ridiculous.  Give the guy a chance to at least establish a foothold.

Or not.

And no thanks to Reich as OC.

PhillyPhreak54

McDermott is losing it. Literal wtf here

Who gets whacked tomorrow?

Rivera
Eberflus
Dennis Allen
Art Smith
Belichick

If those five go then there will be eight openings (CAR, LAC and LV).

Coaches of playoff teams who could be jettisoned: Bowles, McCarthy, Sirianni

QB Eagles

I think Eberflus saved his ass over the last couple of months. I'm not a huge Dennis Allen fan, but the coaching isn't what's holding that team back. I gripe about Sirianni and we know Lurie is willing to whack coaches with winning records if he doesn't like what he sees, but ultimately I think all the playoff coaches are safe.

BB might come down to whether he's willing to give up GM duties.

Riverboat was marked for scuttling months ago. And Arthur Smith will probably be working for FedEx by Tuesday. He should be, anyway. He's farging terrible.
