so yes. the late saturday wild card game will air behind a paywall on an app nobody has. its costing over $100 mil for comcast, which is basically like you making a terrible decision at work to add $20 to your bank account. but your bank accounts has like 7 zeroes.

this wont happen every year, cbs and fox are contractually obligated to get 2 wc games some years, but sheesh. id guess the least appealing game of the weekend goes here, something like jags/chargers again.

its functionally just stupid too because these apps (even netflix) have an enormous churn, so even if they get a lot of sign ups for the game, they wont keep a bulk of those people.

its just a desperate corporation clinging to relevancy and extraordinarily greedy billionaires grabbing a few extra shekels. late stage capitalism.

Jesus H. Christ! Really?  I just went off to junior about MLB.TV and their bullshtein blackout rules.  I pay my $200 or whatever to watch the Phillies and those pricks black out west coast games here (even when Giants  are in Philly).  I've had friends write nasty letters to these fargs saying prorate my bill as I got hosed on Apple TV and Hulu and blackouts.  Greedy fargs!

The insane thing is that even if I shelled out the 300+ bucks or whatever for the Ticket, I still wouldn't be able to use it to watch more than half of the Eagles games. Not gonna happen anytime soon but they gotta fix that shtein. Think that's where the talks with Apple hit a roadblock.

If you really want one stop for Birds games for a normal fee, the options are:
Canadian DAZN + VPN
Euro GamePass + VPN

sunday ticket is always designed to be a premium product...its never going to be a one stop shop for nfl games. they get $2b per year from each network, and those networks want you on their station not an app. its supplemental and for the mega fan/gambling addicts.

that was the hiccup with apple, though. youtube *may* add by week or by game options but not until they get some legit consumer data.

by all accounts, amazon was getting less than 10 mil for its games. peacock has so many fewer subscribers, id be stunned if the playoff game got half that.

streams are far less popular than some geek like gf would lead you to believe but its a pretty common thing. i will most likely doing exactly that for this playoff game and you are welcome to come over...ill even mirror it to the tv for you
