I heard somewhere yesterday that the Phils hit the low point in the season (9 games under at 44-53), they have the best record in the National League (37-20).

Had family duties yesterday, so I didn't get to watch.  Since I was driving, though, I heard the game on my XM radio.  Got to hear Harry Kalas for the first time in months.  Even with encroaching senility, he's still one of the best, easiest-listening announcers in the business.  God bless Harry the K.  :yay

Ryan Madson has a 10.45 ERA in September

Jeff Conine is hitting .324 with 16 RBIs in 21 games as a Phillie

Pat "Mr. mpmcgraw" Burrell is hitting a definitley-not-deserving-of-the-boos .182 in September with a Ruthian like 2 HRs.

Conine needs to be the everyday starter and bat in the 5 spot from here on out. Dellucci and Burrell can't get it done. And I'd keep Ruiz in there while he's hot.

MDS

Lieberthal is more reliable, and equally as hot at the plate. He's not really playing enough for people to get to notice that, but he's been great. Thing is, he can't catch Hamels or Lieber and his knees are on shakier ground than Correll Buckhalter's. But I'd rather have Ruiz than Coste for Lieber and Hamels. Coste hit his wall a few weeks ago and is a marginal ML player.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

PhillyPhreak54

Rollins
Victorino
Utley
Howard
Conine
Burrell
Coste
Nunez
Moyer

Burrell is back in there. At this point I'd rather start Chris Roberson, Mike Bourn or Pete Incaviglia

Take away the one grand slam (blind squirrell, anyone?) and Burrell has a grand total of 3 RBI in September.  :yay

BurrellForDFA, anyone?

MDS

He should be left off the playoff roster. That would be fantastic.

7 in the third and Olsen thrown out.   :D

That was amazing.

As soon as I turned it on I see Rollins go deep. Then Utley (yes, he is back - excellent) and then Coste.

Then Olsen gets tossed.

GO PHILS!

Now 8-4, bottom of the 5th

FloridaMarlins.com says that if the Marlins are eliminated in the next few days, they're going to use rookies out of the bullpen next weekend vs the Phils instead of Olsen and Willis....  ;D :yay

The Negadelphian in me tells me that will make it all the more painful when the Marlins sweep the Phils next week. :boom

"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

Ex-Phil Tommy Hutton has been the Marlins' TV color analyst for years.  Here are some of the quotes from him today:

1.  "Everything's coming up Phillies!"

2.  "The Phillies are the hottest team on the planet."
