Almost.  The loser would fly here for a 1-game playoff to determine the wildcard winner (since the Phils won the coin tosses against both teams).

I would have thought, because a 1 game playoff is actually counted as another regular season game, that the loser would be automatically eliminated from the W/C chase.

That was my logic too.  But Ed says I'm wrong.  So I must be.  Because Ed knows stuff.  Stuff the rest of us don't.

Rollins doubles
Vic sacs him to 3rd
Utley RBI single to CF
Howard walks
Dellucci K's
Burrell K's looking

Imagine that - Phils striking out, especially Pat Burrell, with RISP. I'm shocked.

1-0 Phils

SunMo

he didn't farging swing the bat once...if they make the playoffs, he cannot be a starter
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

PhillyPhreak54

Agreed.

I would rather see Conine out there.

and Dellucci needs to get out of his slump too. They absolutely need him and Utley to get it going. Chase is showing signs of breaking out. A HR on Wed and a single tonight.

Howard is either walking or striking out (it seems) these days. He's getting nothing to hit and we all pretty much knew that would happen. They have to get hot again. All of them. Now.

Hamels has allowed 3 hits - all doubles - and is in the process of stranding the baserunner again. Although he didn't check Ramirez at 2nd and he waltzed to 3rd. But he gets a popout now.

2 outs runner on 3rd and Cole has 5 K's already.

PhillyPhreak54

HOWARD!!

3R OPPOSITE FIELD SHOT!!

4-0 Phils.

SD Eagle was right. :yay

SunMo

i can't believe they threw him a fastball

PhillyPhreak54

Neither can I.

But when there is no place to put him they have to gamble sometimes. That's why its so important that those 1-2-3 guys are getting on.

And normally pitchers think "I'll throw him a fastball but I'll go outside with it." And as soon as they do that he extends his arms and goes opposite field. Amazing.

Now King Cole needs to keep it up and not let the momentum switch.

Graham is a fake.

Wheels and his comparing baseball to golf is annoying too.

They are walking Howard with two outs in the eighth bases empty. Hoydas!!
Alert, alert. Look well at the rainbow. The fish will be running very soon.

Tied w/LA pending the outcome of their game tonight.  Also, SD is leading Pitt 1-0.

1. Marcus Hayes actually put Cliff Floyd in the same category as Derrick Lee and Chipper Jones. What an idiot.

2. He called Livan Hernandez an ace.

3. Cole Hamels is quite good.

4. Ryan Howard got 1 pitch to hit tonight, and he hit a farging 3 run homer.

5. Joe Girardi is a Hoyda.

6. Go DBacks/Pirates
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
