Tell the truth.....shtein finally went south with one of your female coworkers, didn't it?

We're still good friends...no problem there.

why the hell would you ever leave the government....its the greatest place ever

Maybe your job is, not mine. People only last a year or two where I'm at. They're up our ass with a microscope now.

there are more govt jobs than just mine and yours....go get one of them...you already hold the golden ticket by being in the govt.....youd be crazy to give that up by leaving

granted you have military on your resume so it make sit easier to get back in than if i left but i still wouldnt do it

I'm not leaving that option out of the equation. I just can't do what I'm doing much longer. I don't feel like going into detail but it's tedious and getting old. The point I'm at right now is that I'm the number 1 person out of 70 people as far as production and standards goes and I just got promoted to a 9, meaning I can't move up from this point. So there's no room to improve so what motivation do I have to maintain my production? I feel like I'm too smart for this job. Not trying to sound conceided but it's the truth and my co-workers agree.  I originally took the first thing that came my way because I have a daughter to take care of, now that I'm in a decent situation I'd like to move on. Might throw a resume out there to something similar to what you're doing. I planned on doing that in March but circumstances beyond my control [moving, fighting over custody with baby's momma] put that pursuit on hold. Once April is up I'm back on the hunt.

I'm pretty sure you'd have to spell conceited correctly before you could actually be conceited, so don't sweat it. ;-). Should I be on the lookout for reference calls?

Oh, and while I'm in this thread...I still hate my job. As you were.

Ok.  Then something went south with one of your male coworkers, didn't it, semen?

To tell you the truth the only thing I would miss about this place is my co-workers. Great group of hardworking people working here with a nice variety of personalities.

to get a promotion now you have to do a year at a 9....no matter how much you hate it id put my year in then just start flooding resumes out and get your 11 with another agency or office

did you get a strong year end review?....thats the key to moving elsewhere....

if you decide to stay there another year and tough it out whatever you do no matter how much you hate it dont piss anyone off during that time that might effect the kind of review you get next year

or you can make a lateral move right away
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

I might do the lateral move. I was rated as exceptional in all phases during my last year end review. My bosses are great and I couldn't ask for better people to work for. They're not the problem and I wouldn't burn any bridges. They've already told me if I'd like to move somewhere else that I'd get a solid recommendation from them.

I'm at work for the 3rd straight weekend.  Do you have any idea how pointless it is to have Logistics people working on the weekends?  Everything we deal with is closed until Monday.  So when people come in looking for support, we just tell them to come back on Monday.   Pretty sure a sign on my door could do the same thing.

But yeah, I'm going to do this for 4 more years.  Got myself completely back within regs and my CO signed off on my paperwork yesterday.  So hopefully I'll be swearing back in by the end of next week.

I found a nice surprise on my paycheck stub this week. I had gotten a promotion a few months ago and it came with a 15% raise.  Or so I thought.  Turns out they were supposed to give me a 20% raise.  The administrative manager was reviewing the budget and she noticed the mistake.  They ended up giving me the back pay I should have gotten from that point on as well.

Yay me.

How much was the back pay? So we can make the calculation of how much you make. Thanks.

So I've been a real, actual business owner for almost 3 months now. Been pretty awesome, for the most part. The cool novelty part of it has worn off and now we're dealing with the daily stresses of owning a business, but for the first time in my life, I'm 100% happy with my job and I'd much rather be dealing with these stresses than the stresses of a job where my boss was taking home 80% of my commissions.

Just wanted to update :)

My name is Samantha and I no longer hate my job.
