Im heading down to Nashville next weekend...I know a lot of you went down for the Birds game last year - where do I need to go?

rjs246

This is what I remember of Nashville:
Cheap beer everywhere.
Good BBQ everywhere.
Good, cheap rocknroll bars.
Shirtless hbionic dancing in the street.
Matt throwing things.

Details, eh, I don't remember those so good.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

The area in/around Printer's Alley is where most of the bars are.  Broadway has a lot of bars, restaurants and shtein too.  There's also a Flying Saucer if you're into that sort of thing.

Also, next weekend is Beerfest.

If I'm not mistaken, they had this going on last year when we went.

DH

sweet - going down to vandy w a few clients - budweiser included, pretty sure we'll be doing our own beerfest

SunMo

you sound like you have a sweet job DH.

me, on the other hand...drove 7 hours yesterday morning to Blacksburg to VaTech's campus to be at a project meeting that I "had to be at" it lasted 35 minutes and I had nothing else to do down there so i cancelled my hotel and drove home.

14 hours driving, 35 minute meeting.

DH

holy shtein, thats maddening..and im sure you could have skyped or whatever from home in your undies and been just as effective.

SunMo

not a doubt in the world, in fact they had people conferencing in from other locations on Windows Live Meeting.  but when i brought that option up last week to the contractor they said that in person attendance was mandatory.

Any chance the fact that you/your company made the effort was not overlooked?

I'd have driven back home, too.  I hate hotels.

Do you find college towns boring?
