Major trade being discussed!

METS get:  Manny Ramirez and Danys Baez
RED SOX get: Mike Cameron and Aubrey Huff
DEVIL RAYS get: C Kelly Shoppach, OF Lastings Milledge, RHP Anibal Sanchez, RHP Yusmeiro Petit

Seems like the Sox are getting ripped off in that one...  ???

That one doesn't make sense for the Sawx:  Ramirez and their top catching prospect for a wash-up and a decent 1B, when they already have three first basemen.

Ed Wade would probably do it, but I don't see the kid doing that trade.  Is this from the NY Post?

Now sweep the Mets, please...

Astros 3, Mets 2.   Beating Pedro is a good start.

Beltran 0 - 4 and got booed like mad.

Astros take the first two games and lead the wild card.  :)

Yeah, the late edition of BBTN said that the Red Sox finally realized that they'd be getting the shaft and asked the Mets for more. The Mets said no. All three teams have set a noon-Saturday deadline to finalize something or its totally off.

I wonder how New Yawkers will like Manny's antics and lazy attitude? Boston fans booed the shtein out of him tonight and David Ortiz didn't like it.

Holy shtein!

Did you guys see Jay Powell's arm break when he threw the pitch in Atlanta?!?!?!

Brought back memories of Tom Browning and Tony Saunders...

He threw the pitch and his arm just snapped like a twig. You could see it flopping around as he was falling to the ground.

Dillen

Tony Saunders was the man. Powell's arm break wasnt nearly as bad as Suanders' though, I was at the game and you could hear the break from the LF bleachers.

Washington is 3-14 since they got Preston Wilson  :-D

According to FoxSports.com, it wasn't the Red Sox causing the snag, it was the Devil Rays because they wanted more.

D-Rays reportedly cause snag in Manny trade

QuoteThe third team involved with the blockbuster trade, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, have demanded that top Red Sox prospect Hanley Ramirez be included in the trade, said the report which got its information from major league sources.

Mad-Lad

Astros 2, Mets 0.    One game tomorrow (Oswalt vs. Ishii).

LETS SWEEP THOSE BASTAGES!

PhillyPhreak54

Two trades tonight:

Seattle traded Randy Winn to San Francisco for Yorvit Torrealba & Jesse Foppert

Arizona traded Jose Cruz Jr. to Boston for two minor leaguers (don't know who yet)

I'm puzzled by SF acquiring Winn. Well, maybe I'm not because despite the Giants being way behind, the Padres and Dodgers are stinking it up so the Giants think they have a shot. And that means Schimdt won't be traded...

Geowhizzer

I think that Cruz Jr was DFA, so I wouldn't think that the two prospects are anything too special.

From the AP:

Quoteminor league infielder Kenny Perez and minor league right-hander Kyle Bono.

Geowhizzer

SS Kenny Perez:

Started in AAA Pawtucket- .167/1/5 (14 games)
Now in AA Portland- .285/4/28 (66 games)

P Kyle Bono:
A Wilmington- 2-2, 4.07 (24 games/48.2 IP)
