i had never heard of suicide squad before the movie came out....was it really that popular of a comic?

i also had never heard of the ryan reynolds one either...deadpool or whatever

Suicide Squad wasn't Batman or Superman, so nobody's actually heard of it. Deadpool is a parody character that got way more popular than it ever should have. You're going to love the Squirrel Girl movie.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Rome

Squirrel Girl might be excellent if Anna Kendrick ends up starring as the main character.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

In a word, no. I don't think there have been many issues published about them, but the concept behind Suicide Squad was basically to explain to the reader how/why these villians are constantly on the loose. Like, how many times in batman comics has he captured Harley Quinn?  A lot. At some point the reader might wonder how she keeps getting loose. The Suicide Squad story line helps explain that in a slightly more beleive way than having her escape jail over and over.

Deadpool is a fairly modern comic creation. I think his first appearance was sometime in the early 90s, so he doesn't have the longevity of more established characters that have been around for 50+ years.

I watched the new Bourne flick on a hack site this morning, it was ok.

funny games - if you can get thru the sadistuc torture and almost unendurable suspense this a well made excellently acted shtein show of a crazy ass movie that probably has no reason to exist

7/10

Suicide Squad was excellent.

A-  and only because of Jared Leto.  I understand he was playing a truly evil character but his acting is joke worthy.

im not sure we watched the same movie. I thought it was average. leto sucked, I agree with you there as well as will smith being better than I thought he'd be.

overall,  if not for margot robbie and her performace this flick goes a notch above the eric bana hulk movie. ok, a few notches.

no matter what, when it comes to the DC world, beyond the nolan batman trilogy, these movies are weak.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

now, I could argue with you for 15 pages on how stupid you are for ever wasting 20 seconds watching any of these movies, but i'll leave that to the expert.

I actually kind of enjoyed Leto's performance.  It wasn't an all-world performance or anything, but he came across as insane and maniacal and all that.  He seemed more like a dark Joker than a comic Joker.  Only real complaint was this kind of snarly growl thing he did a couple times.  Not really sure what that was all about.  And since he was more of a secondary character in the movie, it's easier to overlook his flaws.  My biggest problem with his character in this movie (and it's not really his fault) is that they portrayed him like some kind of godfather/pimp-like crime lord. Didn't care for the wardrobe choices for him at all.  I guess that since there's so many other things with the movie to complain about, Leto's performance is kind of far down the list.
