Well, now that the NFL season has officialy ended for us perhaps we should look forward to the prospect of a successful season of baseball in Philly and perhaps some Fantasy BB here.  A few questions:

Has CCF ever done a fantasy baseball league?

Would the Gods, oops, I mean Mods oppose to a CCF Fantasy BB league?

Would other CCF members be interested in playing?

I've never played fantasy baseball before, but what the hell, it'll give me something to do.  I know it's still a little early for baseball, but spring training opens up in a few short weeks so I figured I'd get the ball rolling on this.

Any takers?

I'll join if the draft system is automatic.

Tomahawk

As long as it's CF sanctioned, I'll play (win).

of course its not football so no CF champion can be put on the list.   :=)

I will get in.  I did a league on Yahoo last year for the first time and it was pretty cool.  Actually had me watching baseball hi-lites. :puke

Yahoo is still free i believe and they have automated drafts.

Since there seems to be some interest here, how exactly does Fantasy BB work?  Do you set your lineups on a weekly basis, daily, every couple days?  Never played before so I just don't know, but I'm willing to give it a shot. :)

With baseball you need to change your lineup almost daily. If that's not possible, you should try to look at it at least on Sunday and Wednesday as a lot of teams get Monday and Thursday off.  The good thing about Yahoo, though, is you can set your roster for each day a week in advance.

Since this isn't  :CF authorized, I don't want to play.  I need more titles under my name!

Connection Problems

The only problem with Fantasy BB is it is really LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG, and like Thawk or someone said you need to do almost daily checks/updates on your roster and at the beginning and end of the season it is fun, but during the long summer months it can get very boring and a lot of people in each league will just stop paying close attention.

Then you end up with maybe a couple people trying and everyone else just looking at it once a week tops.

Just a warning, it is loooooooooooooooooong and tedious.

I'll pass. :D

Ain't that the truth!  It is a long season and you have to make sure you switch your pitching and sub out your guys with off-days.  Sometimes you forget to check or they bump a guy to give him an extra day of rest and it throws off your whole rotation.  Anyway...it's not so bad, just takes some effort to manage your squad.
