NFL loves stepping on their own dicks.

its the same rule as college...kickoffs are pretty antiquated and are barely a part of the game anymore. they cause concussions at a disproportionate rate to regular plays. i get it.

ST coaches oppose because it makes their jobs even more irrelevant than they already are. dont read anything more to that.

whats just monstrously hypocritical is they take steps like this for safety then give teams 2 thursday games (have thursday games to begin with). greeeeeeeeed
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

No, they love stepping on the fans' dicks. It would be stepping on their own if they eliminated the kickoff entirely, which would generate fewer opportunities for ads.

PhillyPhreak54

Fair.

And yes the Thursday thing sucks. But people will piss and moan and they'll lose zero viewers or fans bc of it

Thank you sir may I have another!

not that the league cares about a misleading headline but the TNF flex thing is a breaks glass in case of emergency thing for amazon. it would be like if rodgers tears his acl and the jets are 3-9 they can get out of that game.

theres really specific parameters on it (28 days notice, cant have 3 games, cant have 2 road games) that make it very unlikely itll ever be used

Teams with the longest 11+ win drought

Washington 1991
Jacksonville 2007
Miami 2008
Detroit 2014
Denver 2015
Vegas/NYG/ATL 2016
Carolina 2017
CHI/HOU/LAC 2018

Diomedes

I noticed a couple headlines on PFT today:

Ravens to hold 18 practices open the public.
Dophins to hold 9 practices open to the public.

Pretty big difference between those two programs.

Got me wondering:  which fan base has the most and which the least opportunity to attend a practice?  Anyone know?

QB Eagles

Eagles are probably the least, since they have one.

For as good of an owner as Lurie is that's one of his few missteps

Lehigh was fantastic

It's bullshtein to not have open practices

MDS

the argument is they cant get anything accomplished, really, at the linc for the open practice so its a waste of time. and with limited practice time they dont want to burn more than one session on what is essentially a PR thing.

practicing at the novacare is so much better for them than lehigh since they have all their fancy tools there. i think a good middle ground would be going back to widener or something close to philly so people can see them but they can still run meetings and physio out of the novacare.

i dont care where they practice i got my fill of lehigh and dont need to go back nor do i need an open practice anywhere but the eagles were pretty damn successful during their time training in lehigh...the 30-40 mile difference widener and lehigh would equal exactly zero change in their wins and losses

lehigh was getting really dilapidated by the end...if lurie wouldve invested in it, they couldve stayed there. as it stands now, that place is really behind and probably wouldnt help with any injury recovery. so yeah it mightve had an effect on the on field results.

the issue with the novacare is its built in the middle of packer park and there is no way to host big crowds there. people live across the street from it - republicans, but people still. if they ever build a new one, im sure they'll build it further out in the burbs or something and have plenty of space for fans to come and watch guys play 2 hand touch or whatever the hell they do now.
