I'm talking myself into Bijan and also Jalen Carter dropping to 10

Jay, you might be spot on here. I know there's been a lot of speculation of Jalen Carter to the Eagles. But now Carter basically came out and said Birds have told Drew Slimenhaus that Eagles will take Carter if he is there at 10 (see the 1 minute mark) https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/video/jalen-carter-confident-he-wont-fall-past-eagles-no-10

After that clip is another one in which Howie talks about the most important thing with a top 10 pick is getting a "unique player."

It sounds like the speculation about Howie moving up if he can to get Carter is the goal, at least if it's feasible. And if not, Bijan still fits that "unique player, regardless of position" criterion of selecting a top 10.

Jalen Carter would likely be going into as ideal a situation as he could hope for, even if he has shtein for brains.

This is the only rumor I believe, the draft starts at 8 PM EST.

Yeah man...here's my reasoning on Bijan...

Despite being firmly in the no RB high camp - he's projected to be an excellent player. And with the way the Eagles are positioned offensively adding a guy like that to an already top offense would make it virtually unstoppable. Assuming health and other factors of course.

RBs have a shelf life of what, 4-5yrs? So you pick this guy up and add him to a rushing attack that is dominating and get those five years out of him. And then you move on.

So farg it if he's the pick then I'm down. I want to win and he can make them even more explosive.

Yeah, that's the point that seems lost on so many people - so a RB is probably only good for 5 years - so, then move on. Any player is only good for 4 or 5 years and then get a tag, trade on new contract anyway. Sure there are some advantages to keeping a core guy but it isn't the major factor many make it out to be.

That said, I'd still pass on Bijan at 10. Maybe see if I can get Ekeler for nearly the same price as a number 10 pick would get (maybe a 3yr contract with 2nd year out). I also wouldn't assume that the offense would be any better with Robinson than Sanders last year, who went to the probowl. I'd say it's a 50/50 proposition.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I live in Panther country, nobody around here is excited about them having the first overall pick. Everyone says they will screw it up somehow.
Three things can happen when you throw the ball, and two of them are bad.

On another note is the board timing out for anyone else lately?

that is not what you want out of a high day 1 pick...come on buddy be smarter here

the #10 pick is picked to be a 2/3 contract guy.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Maybe Elon's  dumbass should ban everyone who tips picks? I'd buy Tesla stock if he did.

I freely admit to being irrational on this simply in the short term view of punishing people and winning in the next 1-2yrs
