Agreed.

Strikeout
Home run

That's about all we get. Yes pitchers are throwing harder than ever consistently. But the shoot for the fences mentality hurts the game.

I'd cry tears of joy to see small ball be played. It doesn't have to be all the time even. But if you're down a run late rather than have three guys shooting for the moon how about some station to station ball?

ice grillin you

the shift has to go for starters but thats not nearly enough....im down to move the mound

im not against small ball but i dont even so much yearn for small ball as just balls in play....no one is watching the sport to see nothing happen which is what strikeouts are

lol your love of 1920s baseball is amazing

bunting is never coming back. but yes they need to move the mound back and have more action. the launch angle/velo obsessions are never going away but there is a happy medium where those things can continue to exist while there being more balls in play.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

baseball will die as the WTs die out.  you could go 1 for 3 in every game and end up the batting champ. that's not exciting.

that being said I'm going to a diamondbacks rockies game next weekend in Phoenix and I could not be more excited to get drunk with old republican strangers.

i know you dont follow sports but baseball is a billion dollar business that is in no danger of ever dying within our lifetimes

QB Eagles

It's not dying but as a cultural force peak baseball was back in the radio era. It's in many ways an ideal sport for radio.

It's never going to have that mindshare again in the US, but it doesn't require it to financially thrive as 30 teams marketing to hundreds of millions of people in the US, Asia, and Latin America.

Safe to say that MLB won't be rigging the game to produce more smallball though. I'm sure their marketing research says bigger faster and dumber is the way to go.

homers are great for business...people love dingers

people do not love strikeouts. thats why you move the mound back, you get more homers, more runs, and more contact.

Mariners scored 7 on 3 hits.

First time that's happened since 1994.

Move the mound back then. And get rid of the shift like Havas said.

Bc this homer or strikeout shtein is annoying

MDS

the homer rate is going to increase if anything

the mound is being moved back in the atlantic league this year as a test run. could see it in the minors next year.

As long as the strikeouts decrease and balls get put in play.

Speaking of bunting...watching Bote of the Cubs try to sacrifice is pitiful. Shockingly he got it down...by accident.
