According to Ken Rosenthal, it would cost them a second round pick (first round is protected because they suck).  And I agree, that would be a stupid thing to do.

Yep.  This is a team that is trying to rebuild thru the draft.  Giving up a 2nd to sign a guy for a year is the opposite of smart.   No chance it happens.
