This is the sports gods way of making up for farging Derek Barnett.

its also a way of raping the sixer lottery chances cause we know two good things in a row is not happening

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteOn Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, there will be a ceremony at 11th St. and Pattison Avenue to celebrate the renaming of a section of 11th St. (the area from Pattison Ave. south to Terminal Ave.) as "Ed Snider Way," in honor of the legacy of the Flyers' beloved co-founder and longtime owner/chairman. The ceremony will be led by City Coucilman Kenyatta Johnson, who sponsored the effort in City Council. Members of the Snider family will also be on hand.

Six year extension for Ghost.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

seems like a really fair deal if he doesnt slip any further and a super bargain if he gets better

I have to admit I was shocked when I saw that deal.  Dude gets benched for three games a few months ago then gets a $27M extension?   How farging weird are the Flyers?

hakstol is a farging joke more than the flyers are weird....this contract was basically hextalls way of saying the player will outlast the idiot coach

That's what I first thought when I saw the deal.  The head coach benches the guy for three games, the kid turns around his season and gets rewarded beyond any reasonable expectation.   Seems like a gigantic farg you to the coach.

It's really not.

$27M is reasonable for a guy who looked like he'd be sent back to the minors just a few months ago?

If he plays like he did as a rookie, it's a good deal.

jesus christ he never looked like a minor leaguer

He struggled, but did not look like a minor leaguer.  And yes, the $27M is the going rate for young talented defensemen these days.  If he pans out to even a second pairing, the Flyers have control until he's 30 for $4.5M per year, and it's a damn good deal.

Unfortunately, the going rate for teachers is missing about six zeros from that figure!
