igy knows, because Wentz is a ginger white MA religious fanatic and Dak Prescott

I know cause I've watched every snap he's ever taken in college and the odds are way against him...do I know for sure he's going to be a franchise qb?....no but I'll put all my cents against it vs your cents for it
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

When did you become a professional scout?

ice grillin you

I'm actually better than most scouts or gm's except when it comes to qb's

this is actually a good thing for Carson wentz but I still want to know why he's gong to be awesome...because I don't see it and because I don't know qb's very well u need to give me a reason other than the fact hes an eagle

I'm definitely open to listening

I don't know good he's going to be, but he's athletic, has a great arm, is mobile, and his football IQ (from what I read) is off the charts. So he has the tools and the makings of a good QB. From what little I saw of him with a shtein line against a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers he was by far the most dominant player on the field. We'll see what happens Sunday, but regardless of if he throws for 200 yards and 3 picks or he throws for 400 yards and 4 TDs I'll give the guy a year to get his shtein together as we all should.

ice grillin you

I don't see the great arm and I've looked far and wide for it...his arm seens fine to me but massively overrated by eagle fans cause there is nothing else there

I can also go on forever naming the genius qb's who have sucked and the dopes who have been good...so that made up idiocy is 100% eagle homerism to me...not to say every other fanbase wouldn't do the same

so, he's probably gonna suck, but he could potentially be good.

No. Consider the audience to whom you're replying. He'll obviously be the worst QB of all time or the best QB of all time.

I just want to know where I could spend hours watching every snap that wentz ever took in college.

The more I think about it, the more I really hate the decision to start Wentz right away.  Keep in mind, I wasn't really on board with it in the first place, so I'm just heading further in the same direction.  This dude has A LOT going against him making it in the NFL.  He didn't play against top college competition.  He doesn't have any single "transcendent" attribute.  He played like 1/2 of a preseason game and then missed a few weeks with injury, so it's not like he even got a lot of reps in during practice.  If you've got an Andrew Luck or Cam Newton or even a Sam Bradford, then fine....throw him to the wolves in week 1.  It might not be pretty, but those guys were so well groomed and so incredibly talented in college that they all had significantly higher odds of being able to the transition on the fly.

This dude damn near got murdered behind a bad OL against guys who are currently looking for work.  Not all his fault, but the game is only going to get faster and the hits are going to be harder.  Maybe if dude had more snaps in the preseason I'd be a little more on board with it, but as it stands right now there's literally nothing to gain by starting him week 1.  Daniels should be starting until the bye, give Wentz like 30% of the 1st team reps in practice until then, and then 100% of the practice snaps for the 2 weeks during the bye.  Start week 5.

This move really screams like it's coming from either Howie or even Lurie and it's about generating buzz and selling merchandise more than what might actually be best for the team.

I agree with that.  I think they're tempting fate but I'm way more interested in watching on Sunday than I was with Bradford and especially Daniel.

This reeks of desperation, though.

Hope I'm wrong.

im not on board with starting him week 1 either. the lack of top college competition is one thing, but as we all saw, the guy barely played during the pre-season and spent little time getting first team reps during camp. the speed of the game will be even faster come sunday and the defenses he will see will not be vanilla.

that said, for better or for worse, the game does have a little extra energy to it now and ill be there to see the wentz era begin, and hopefully not end.  :paranoid

How about, it doesn't farging matter anyway.

No one knows for sure if sitting one dude or starting another works best. Getting extra 'Practice' reps isn't going to do shtein. It's like, "Let me practice on my inflatable doll for a year before I try with a real woman". It didn't work for me, it won't work for Wentz.

He wants this job, have him learn it. It's not like this O-Line is all of a sudden going to get better when he gets in there mid-season. In fact, it might help them gel together knowing that they're the only thing protecting Wentz's interest in being able to walk after he retires.

Throw him in, he's not 12 years old, have him learn. farg practice, farg being a Hoyda. The game isn't as 'tough' as it used to be. There are more protections for QB's now than there ever were.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

Oh, it's definitely more intriguing. That's why I think this is a Howie/Lurie decision, because it's a good business/terrible football decision.
