The rule is stupid and being overly enforced. The ONLY part of the rule that needs to be enforced is what Utley did last year. Late slide/barrel roll into the legs. The rest of it aka the Toronto and Houston enforcement? Get the farg outta here.

Pitch counts are stupid. I'll never get how dudes could throw so many CGs and pitches but now once they hit 100 it's end of the world.

they def aren't stupid but they certainly can be used in a stupid way....such as last night

generally with veteran guys you let them go to 120, even 130 if the situation calls for it

with young guys, limiting pitches and limiting innings as you build up arm strength has proven to be successful - to a certain extent. with certain arms, theres nothing you can do, its going to be a problem anyway (think jose fernandez, the best pitcher in baseball).
