Right. To say the play that lost the game lost them the game is really just cherry picking.

nate allen stinks and made 1 mistake

nick foles made about 10000....but blame nate allen
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its not cherry picking its just not very smart....its a take that a lot of sports radio type fans have....if you wanna get silly and go there then the play that lost the game was the last play when the eagles couldn't score
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

hbionic

HUFF Fumble
Foles Pick in end zone
Inability to punch it in from 1-yard line.

That lost the game.
I said watch the game and you will see my spirit manifest.-ILLEAGLE 02/04/05

there's literally one play where you can say without a doubt that they would have won if it didn't happen.

Here's why I don't throw much blame at the defense.  It's simple and should be fairly obvious, but I'll say it anyway....

This is not a defensive team.  It's not their identity.  If that was the Buddy-era Eagles out there yesterday, fine.  Blame the defense.  Even if that was the 2000-2003ish Eagles out there, then fine.  Blame them.  Those defenses had all-pro caliber players at every level.  They had hall of fame level players.  This defense has a couple decent players in the front 7 and ? ? ? ? ?

They've been excellent at creating turnovers and putting points on the board, but when they don't take the ball away they are generally giving up a lot of yards and a lot of points.  I can't imagine that there's another defense in the league that has given up more plays of 20+ yards since the start of last season than the Eagles.  And if there is, then the Eagles have to at least be top (or bottom) 3.

This defense gives up big plays.  It's who they are.  How many times does Nate Allen have to get burnt deep because he's watching the QB instead of receivers before you realize that that is who he is?  Nater gonna Nate.  You should be used to seeing that by now.

Don't get mad at the d for being what they are.  Be mad at the offense for not being what they're supposed to be.

it comes to John Brown's (JB) play.

yeah but it shouldnt have....thats like saying a fg at the buzzer is why a team lost

theres upwards of 90 plays in an nfl game....to say that one play lost a game is very short sighted

Wait a second...did he miss the fg at the buzzer or was it a 75 yard TD?

something that happened and something made up are the same thing now.

QB Eagles

The offense, defense, and special teams lost the game. Also the coaching could have been better.

General_Failure

Special teams didn't lose shtein. Also, Maclin didn't lose shtein. He busted his ass and the gatorade table trying to win that game.

QB Eagles

I saw several plays in which Jeremy Maclin and the special teams failed to score touchdowns. If they had scored touchdowns on those plays, the Eagles probably would have won the game.

Also, the defense allowed the Cardinals to score several times. If they had stopped that, the Eagles probably would have won the game.

There are an infinite number of possible events that would have caused the Eagles to win the game. People missed blocks, threw bad passes, made incorrect cuts, tackled poorly, failed to generate turnovers, and covered poorly, and therefore those events did not happen. Arguing over which of those should have occurred, and the failure of which caused them to lose the game, is retarded. No one had a perfect game. Some players played better than others, but most players had a chance to execute what would have been a game-winning play, but failed to do so. Except Dorenbos, he looked pretty good out there.

General_Failure

Dorenbos threw a bunch of bad passes, what are you talking about?

Oh, it was definitely a team loss.  But in terms of spreading the blame, I go something like:

Play Calling/Offense/QB - 70%
Defense - 20%
Special Teams - 2%
Obamacare - 3%

I just don't see the point in blaming a pretty bad defense for playing bad defense.  I'd direct more anger at Chip and Howie for the fact that Nate Allen is still on this team rather than being mad at Nate Allen for being bad at football.  It's like being mad at a retard for being a retard.
