short of getting blown away with an offer which wasnt going to happen there no reason for mathis to sign before camp...veterans will do anything to not practice for a month in a 1000 degree heat

Could be true, or could be he's not getting offers close to what he was making with the Eagles and his ego won't allow him to settle for something less.
