it's cute how you think nba players take 5 years to mature.

lol so todd thought they would get wiggins this year and challenge to come out of the east?  i mean, that's the only plausible explanation for why he's freaking out about this.

mother farger, it was always a 3-4 year plan.  but damn, doug mcdermott!
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

MDS

no...youre too far up hinkie's peehole to see what they are doing

im not exactly super excited about "3-4 years" of zesty basketball for the an off chance that this thing works. their starting 5 this couldve been mcw-x-thad-buckets-noel. is that good enough to win the the east? a title? the division? of course not. but its something to get behind and excited about.

you see how that goes. you reevaluate after this season. swing a trade. you have cap space. maybe the mcw/x/noel trifecta interests some big time free agents in 15 or 16. maybe you sign one. youd have the money.

theres plenty of ways to go about building a title contender other than suck for 5 years, throw a bunch of shtein at a wall and hope enough pieces stick.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

mcw-x-thad-buckets-noel

is no better than

mcw-x-x-x-noel

unless there's something you know that you're not telling us.

MDS

clearly no one but me calls exum "x"

slight aside: are you going back to nica

Todd sees 5 years of bad sixers basketball

I see 1 more bad year where we as fans get to see young guys develop followed by 3 or 4 years of watching a young group with talent grow. I'd rather be good enough to be in thd championship conversation or have a young group I can get excited about. Theres really no in between. Especially in the nba which isn't like hockey where you can get hot for 2 months and win it all.

MDS

yea theres 2 "young guys" on the roster you get see develop, outside of some potential 2nd round picks that could become role players and whatever the hell anthony bennett is. im sure their skills will shine around a roster full of nbadl talent. have fun.

after that, you get their pick in the upcoming weak draft, the oft-injured embiid and the complete wild card that is saric, then mcw and noel leaving after their rookie deals are up because they dont want to play for a loser franchise. then the rebuilding process can start over again!. can't wait!

yeah i think its a just to be different thing with him...hinkie has pretty much gotten universal praise almost across the board with everything hes done so the lil guy just figures hell go the other way....because he has no real plan of his own to make the team better....he just yells about people loving hinkie

Was listening to WIP this morning after I dropped my kids at the airport and the poll of the day was:

I trust Hinkle like I trust (a) Amaro (b) Chip Kelly

I didn't hear the final results, but at one point Amaro led with 52% of the votes.  I'd like to say I was shocked,  but I wasn't.

PhillyPhreak54

So Chip Kelly gets no trust?!

And yo lil guy - no hopping on the wagon when they're good! Get a Bucks jersey son!

the point of wasting a season was to, you know, get a couple high picks and turn it around. not draft more players than wont play.

but if you guys want to wait around for 5 years on the off chance that it all works, go for it. id much rather get on with it. get rich or die tryin.

so your theoretical master plan for nerlens an 18 year old austrailian high schooler and the legend that is doug mcdermott to mature and turn into superstars would be what?...two years

you do know that there is at least an equal chance that dario saric is more nba ready in two years than dante exum will be at age 21
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

to be honest i dont trust anyone...im a philadelphia fan...that includes hinkie right now....all i go on is the results and so far he has done nothing i wouldnt have done...similarily when chip came in i didnt trust him...but after a year i have no complaints other than letting pimp go but even that is so agregious that im on record as thinking its gonna work because everything else he does seems to

your whole scenario is based on exum becoming a superstar and embiid not....time will tell but i dont think there is anyone who knows basketball who would rather have exum right now than embiid and i like exum a lot

embiid is never staying healthy....its all moot with him

id rather just know now. i dont want to wait 5 years to find out. get the fargers on the court and find out who can do what. adjust from there.
