2013 Philadelphia Flyers Shortened Season Thread

We moved away in 1987 - right when I started getting into hockey. I was 8 and remember watching them on prism. Going to Alabma and then Kansas ruined my hockey fan development.

I remember my friends dad always yelling "goddamn that farging Ronnie hextall is the man"

They all need a reset. The Eagles may suck or they may reinvent the wheel but at least they're going in a new direction.

The Flyers have some decent young players. I'd shtein can Holmgren asap. How many million dollar farg ups do you get before you get the axe?

I can definitely see him being the fall guy. On the one hand it probably doesn't matter who the coach is on the other hand if they shteincan him who's out there that's better?

I really like Laviolette, but he is one that may get tuned out by the players. Also, some of the comments Snider made during the offseason (particularly about playing a more defensive-friendly system) made me think that Laviolette may be on the hot seat. If the team really shteins the bed, it seems to be a sure bet that he will be gone.

Most likely to replace him, at least in the short term, may be Terry Murray. Not my ideal choice.

Both their power play and their penalty kill have been god awful. Oh also the rest of their play has been terrible too. So that's nice.

In case people still haven't heard, Hartnell is out indefinitely with a foot injury and B. Schenn was suspended a game.

They need to suck dick. They need to shed Bryz/Briere/Hartnell/Timmonen and any other lingering dinosaur and rebuild. Tank this year and add a stud in the draft. Get rid of Holmgren, he costs them millions in bad contracts yet they retain him. This makes no sense whatsover.
