I couldn't help but think of Survivor when Vanuatu walked in.  Also Manny Pac when the Philipines entered, Nate Ilaoa when American Samoa, Sacha Baron Cohen when Kazakhstan, just a very emotional night.

Why are the #4 and #5 lanes in swimming the most desired and the outside lanes the least desired? Is it the water and ripples/waves from other swimmers? Anyone here know?

ha...i have wondered this for years...imo the outside lane would be the best because there is less interference in the way of waves and shtein...ive yet to ever hear a legit explanation but maybe on the outside you cant get as good a feel as to wear the competition is??

My understanding is that there are two reasons that the inside lanes are preferable:
1. Because you get the best view of your competition so you can see if you need to kick it into high(er) gear.
2. Much of what you're trying to do as a swimmer is reduce resistance. The less your body touches the water, the easier it is to go faster. The outside lanes are choppier creating a more challenging swimming experience.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
