more realignment - catholic big east teams may be voting to dissolve the big east within the next 48 hours.  Plan seems to be to take the 7 and merge with Butler, Xavier, Saint Louis, Creighton, and Gonzaga (though this gets trick if it's beyond a basketball only league) to form a new league, though I'm not sure whether they'd still have the Big East moniker rights.  Seems like a better plan for Nova/GTown/Marquette/St Johns than to just wait and be left behind after Cincy/Conn eventually leave, leaving them with a steaming pile of crap in the rest of the conference.

hes the one guy on the list who wont use the job as a stepping stone for a real school. he loves philly, the school, wife works for the school, doesnt want to be nowhere else. so its the right move. players and incoming recruits love him, too.

jury is out big time on whether or not he can coach. golden and addazio were abominations on gameday so i got to think hes gonna be better.

on a personal note he was the oc for golden when i covered them. talked to me once. was nice, personable and gave a thoughtful well spoken answer. then we jerked each other off, of course!
