really surprising the yanks gave up the best catching prospect in baseball....there just arent a lot of quality catchers coming up thru the ranks and when you have one you are supposed to keep them...this will be a very interesting trade to follow over the next several years
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

Munson

That's because all reports are he's not a quality catcher...in fact, he's apparently a lousy catcher and attempts to coach him up haven't been very successful.

I don't know why they wouldn't hold onto him to take over the DH mantle from Jorge though

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

I was pretty shocked to hear about this one....more that SEA dealt Pineda than Yankees moving Montero

while it certainly would be great to have a one two punch....i think when you have as good a young pitcher in the game as there is in felix you can afford to trade a prospect like pineda...plus in that park you need as many runs as you can get

Probably because they've had so many problems with their pitching and have already scored the most runs in the league the past 3 years..

True...and I wonder if they make a harder run at Fielder now too. Montero/Prince is a nice duo to have.

i love trades like this because its perfectly even and you can make an equal argument why both teams should have done it or shouldnt have...and mostly like i said i love following the results of trades like this over the years

i have a feeling its going to be a pointless trade

pineda doesnt have "it" at cant take playing in ny
montero is all well in good but is on a terrible mariners team so it doesnt matter

also now arent the m's locked into long terming king?
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

The road jerseys have San Francisco across the front.
