It's only for the 2012 season, but still.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Bud Selig is one of the worst commissioners in the history of sports.

Rome

He was an owner previously and a hapless one at that.

So it stands to reason he'd make a perfect commissioner.

Hilarious as that is, I farging hate owners who are only looking to make a buck and could care less about winning.  Obviously an owner's #1 goal is to be profitable, and I'm fine with that.  But for fargs sake, at least pretend you care about the fans and winning.  As bad as Snyder rapes Skins fans, at least the guy puts the money back into the team, even if it is foolishly spent.  This guy has no business owning a sports franchise.

the owner tried to get puljos AND reyes this offseason....i wouldnt exactly say he doesnt care about winning

1 offseason of trying to get talent doesn't mean that the guy is commited to winning.  We blast Lurie and Co all day long because they seem to be content with putting a playoff caliber team on the field but won't go the extra mile to sign/draft guys who will put the team over the top.  They did it once in 2004 and haven't come close to replicating it since.  I guess you could argue that they did this last offseason but they didn't come close to the desired results because they went on the cheap with their DC.  So trying to sign 2 of the top free agents doesn't mean shtein, especially when you don't land the biggest one out there.

This guy is a farging scumbag.  He was involved in some shady shtein with the sale of the Expos and other than buying a WS with the Marlins back in 03, he's rarely put a respectable team on the field.  And for him to openly come out and say the shtein he did is absolutely dispicable.  I don't care about the Marlins one way or the other, but I love baseball and I want all of the owners to do their part to help baseball as a whole succeed.  His #1 priority is his pockets, which is fine, but putting a winning team on the field and contributing to the sport in general seem to be at the bottom of the list of things he gives a shtein about.  Farg him.

well you cant really count the other offseasons because they played in a complete lemon of a stadium and got no fans...thus thye had no revenue streams

so in the new stadium hes 1 for 1 in offseasons

its very similar to the phillies when they moved into the bank and signed thome after years and years of neglect

the difference is the marlins won multiple world series when they werent spending money

Loria and Samson are grade A scumbags.

MDS

they signed thome the year before they moved to the bank

and the marlins are the new braves to igy so you best not come at them
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Rome

The Marlins had the 7th highest team payroll in MLB in 1997 when they won the Series.  They did win it on a shoestring in 2003, though.

key words in bold...new stadiums give you the revenue to sign big free agents

nats are easily better than the braves or marlins....in fact nats are my pick to win the division

their rotation is sick....and with grits knee falling off and choke out until the all star break the phils dont have an offensive advantage over them...could go either way but i think in the long run the phillies age and health will catch up with them

SunMo

definitely the team who's ace pitcher can only pitch 160 innings will win the division
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.
