I would like to see them get some new blood, someone like Jay Gruden.  Whoever it is I want to see someone that actually drafts for talent and not "solid" players.

I hope they get one of the Patriots coordinators. Guys who leave there have a killer track record.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Reid looks absolutely awful these days, worse than ever.  The stress is killing him.

I'm hoping Lurie gives him a vote of confidence by way of an extension.

This post is LEGIT.

id take almost anyone in place of reid...the only type coach i wouldnt want is some elder who been around forever...like how the cowboys hired wade phillips or how shottenheimer used to get hired over and over

id def take fisher or cowher but i also would have no problem taking a chnce on an up and comer

the more important thing to me than the net head coach is making sure howie goes out the door with reid....if andy goes and howie doesnt then im gonna be salty as farg and not really care who the hed coach is...i get the feeling that even with andy who is a veteran guy with lots of power than banner and howie have lil danni like influence on the team and that scares the shtein out of me because that power play will only increase with a new coach

Literally couldn't agree more

QuoteSigns point, for now, to Reid staying put

A Philadelphia Eagles fan shouts "Fire Andy" towards the Eagles head coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia Reuters

At a time when the folks in Philly have once again broken out the pitchforks and torches, their efforts to clamor for change in the coaching ranks of the local NFL team ultimately could fall on deaf ears.

Though more people than ever can now envision the end of the Andy Reid era after 13 years featuring one Super Bowl appearance, the smart money in league circles remains on Reid staying put, even if the Dream Team fails (as expected) to make it to the playoffs.

The fact remains that Reid is a very good coach.  He has proven to be one of the best quarterbacks coaches in league history, as evidenced by the reality that quarterbacks play better with Reid than they do with anyone else.  From Mike Vick to Kevin Kolb to Donovan McNabb to Vince Young (with limited time in the system) to A.J. Feeley to Jeff Garcia to Koy Detmer to Mike McMahon, Reid has shown on a consistent basis that he can coach up quarterbacks.  Since quarterback remains the most important position on the field, that ability should not be underestimated.

Then there's the fact that Reid would quickly find himself on the wish list for pretty much any team that fires its coach.  As Howard Eskin of NBC 10 and WIP radio pointed out on Monday's PFT Live, Reid could be a perfect fit for the Chargers and quarterback Philip Rivers.  If the Vikings, who once hired Reid's right-hand man, decide to move on from Leslie Frazier in an effort to get a new stadium built, why not give the keys to Reid?

Then there are the taterskins, who may be more inclined to move on from Mike Shanahan if the man who has beaten the taterskins 16 of 25 times since Dan Snyder bought the team becomes available.

Regardless, someone will want to hire Reid.  And the fear that he could go somewhere else and finish the job he started in Philly could be the factor that prompts owner Jeffrey Lurie to let Reid keep trying to finish the job where he started it.

Peter King also said that he doesn't believe that he will be canned either.

so the reason he wont be fired is that someone else might hire him?

thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard

if hes not fired its because banner inc personally likes the guy and is being overly loyal.....period

Haha....it's not my first time reading posts on this board; it's almost like I learned a second language.

The point is Reid is only part of the problem. Until the entire FO is napalmed, the Eagles aren't going to be all that good

MDS

why would they be scared if andy went to san diego

what the farg do the eagles care about san diego. or even minnesota for that matter.

wherever he goes it might start like it did here in 1999. could be. but its beyond done here. its been 13 god damn years and everyone just needs a clean break.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

A little hard to read but correct. I don't think that a guy like Cowher would even take the job if he went into an interview with Roseman.

Yeah, that's really the stupidest argument for keeping Reid yet.

So they won't get another coach that might be able to actually win a Super Bowl in this city (which is the whole point afterall) for some insane idea that he might, maybe, take another team to a Super Bowl somewhere else?

Well hell if that's the case don't ever get rid of anymore under producing players, they might go to another team and win a Super Bowl with them... can't have that.

One step closer.

He has officially lost 100% of his team. Regardless of what they say. They should fire him now. Just to prove a point. I dont' care if the NCC janitor becomes interim HC, fire him now.

yeah fire the winningest coach in franchise history who gave you 13 mostly good years with four games left in the season

even after the season were he to go hes not gonna get fired.....its going to be a mutual decision that all parties think is the best direction to go in
