Quote"When you go after those balls, you think they're at you and they're there," Brown said. "But they're really not. They mess with your depth perception there. I thought I had a good bead on it. After I saw I wasn't going to catch it, I just tried to keep it in front of me."

He's regressing as a fielder.  Was he not a pretty darn good fielder in the minors?
"Well where does Jack Lord live, or Don Ho?  That's got to be a nice neighborhood"  Jack Singer(Nicholas Cage) in Honeymoon in Vegas.

I'd expect there are some who will claim to know the answer to that question. Can't wait to hear the expert analysis.

no....he was always a work in progress....safe to say he hasnt progressed...safe to say he stinks...he supposedly was coming up with a real good arm but i dont even see that

Don't know if it was mentioned but Stark reported yesterday the Phillies target is Pence and that the Stros turned down an offer of Cosart/Singleton/ and something else...possibly Mathieson. Stark ultimately doesn't think the Stros are going to deal Pence.

WIPmike, everyone
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

its not good right now, no. will it ever be good? who knows. choke could not make the throw from 1st to 2nd but now hes much better. these things can get better.

ive been for an upton or pence trade which can open up LF for brown for the foreseeable future.

the point is philly.com comments and WIP have been killing him, saying he sucks trade him bla bla bla. way over the top reactionary idiocy but thats philly fans for ya.

who farging cares if it will ever be good...this year is all that matters and right now hes scary out there

and choke has gotten better by not throwing it into left field...but he accomplished that by simply not throwing the ball at all anymore...all he does is look to second or home and then runs and steps on first letting every runner advance

Well, then you'll all be thrilled to know that trade talks with the Astros for Pence are starting up again. The report is that Amaro is now willing to include Brown in the deal - the very reason the talks stopped before. Assuming Brown and Cosart wouldn't BOTH be in it, but if it's really 2011 or bust, who cares? Right, guys?!?

"Oh, yeah. They'll still boo. They have to. They're born to boo. Just now, they'll only boo with two Os instead of like four." - Larry Andersen

Jim Salisbury. Now the contradictory reports are flying in, and Jayson Stark is saying an Adams/Ludwick package could be coming our way. Feel that excitement?

SD

Pence for Brown is really a lateral move for the most part. Pence gives you a better player for this season and a right handed bat, Brown gives the Stros a young prospect with a high ceiling. I'd be fine with Brown and something else for Pence.

SunMo

Pence is so farging overrated...and if Ed Wade manages to outlast Rube and get brown+ it will be a sad day for phillies fans
