Eagles need a new special teams coach. They should consider Mike McCarthy in as an assistant to the new guy if Jerry lets him go.

Hmm...with all the crying Pat Mahomes does weekly, you'd think his team would be keeping company lower left corner with us....but KC is dead smack center.

Eagles are gonna rest guys

Saquon will not be breaking ED's record

My heart wants Saquon to play and take the record.  My head (or the Philly Sports Anxiety Disorder I suffer from) says to give him the day and be ready and healthy for the playoffs.

I think it's a mistake to rest.

Rhythm is a thing.  It's a game of routine and repetition and pace.

Morale is a thing.  It's not a great message to tell the team, "these six guys" get protected while you risk it all.  It's not great to send an intentionally inferior team out on the field.  Resting Saquon robs the rest of the team of his  chance at that accompishment as well...it's not just Saquon won't get the record, but his line won't either, and they want it.

Fans paid money to see the Eagles play football, not to see them play games with the roster as a hedge against injury.   I guess that's what you get for buying week 18 tickets...a good chance that you'll be attending a pre-season quality exhibition.

It stinks all around.

I would have played to win like they did in Detroit last week.  That's football.

a big part of this is, it's not just saquon who would have to play. maybe you can get away without lane but theyd need the rest of the starters. its a lot of risk and a lot of work for a personal accomplishment. so i get it.

but farg it, i do it
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I get it but yeah I'd like to see them take a shot.

Resting people is always a concern bc I'm big on momentum. But then again they haven't had a bye since week 5.

To argue against myself, I was reminded:  AJ was injured in game 18 last season.

Last two comments sum it up!  I was all gung ho let's go!!  Listened to both sides of the arguement. F it!  Do it!  BUT correct J and Dio - no bye week since week 5!  That is unbelievable. 14 weeks of football including first round.  Brutal.  Totally forgot no AJ last year in playoffs.

Just digested next year's schedule.  Jesus.

QuoteThe schedule is brutal, and could be one of the toughest in NFL history. Nick Sirianni's team will face the Chiefs, Vikings, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, and Jim Harbaugh's Los Angeles Chargers on the road. They'll host Detroit and Denver, while getting a close up look at Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears.[/quote

Plus Raiders and Rams at home. At ATL or TB and Packers.

At least a couple of those will wind up not even being playoff teams next year. Then again, since they won't be allowed to win the NFC East next year, The Eagles might not be a playoff team either.

The man. The myth. The legend.

MDS

on paper, they should have the toughest schedule in the league next year entering the season. bad luck to be lined up with the nfc north + afc west, then have the 1st place matchup spot against the bills.

they are also in tampa for like the 4th straight year because the schedule wheel ever so slightly changed when it started a new rotation a year or two ago. quirky ass shtein.

Mark TB as an L now since that team exists to be a painful experience for the Eagles since 2002.
