Colts open as a 4-pt favorite, O/U 56.0

Favre royally farged up there but that is as much on Childress.  He completely backed off with a minute to go and put their offense in position to have to make that play at the end..  With the way kickers have been in the playoffs was he really going to rely on a 50 yard field goal when he had a minute to move the ball 10 more yards?

The last series the Vikings ran might as well have been conceived and executed by Andy Reid.

Just astoundingly awful in every respect.

andy reid sans mcnabb

no shot mcnabb gets them into fg position in that spot. no shot he throws the interception either, too afraid. favre circa 1996 hits that pass. its just that favre instinctively cant help but play like its 1996. which is why no one was surprised when the other shoe dropped.

also how smoking hot is his wife? good god.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

lol the excuses you make for other QB's in attempts to blame McNabb for everything are so incredible I can only hope it's attempts at fishing for Phreak or PG to come at you.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

MDS

what excuse did i make for favre

he farged up and lost the game for them, combined with andy reid jr's play calling. no way to shine that up.

but when i was watching it i wondered if mcnabb was in this spot, what would he do. and the answer is unequivocally he would go 3 and out and blame the defense for giving up 28 points.

I think it just proves that when there's an idiot calling plays expecting his QB to be super man....it aint gonna work.

Ditto. But I was laughing...and very hard...at the pick. I wanted it to happen so badly. When he threw the first one, I was like, "aw, save it for later." Didn't matter. I love it.

was thinking about this last night......does 1 super bowl win really make a difference?  during his 19 year career, favre has appeared in 4 nfccg and won 2 along with 1 super bowl.  he also virtually sealed his team's fate in his last 2 appearances by throwing an int.  during his career, he's had 30 4th qtr comebacks and 43 gw drives.

in a little more than half that time, mcnabb's been to 5 nfccg, 1 super bowl and has 15 4th qtr comebacks and 23 gw drives.

this isn't so much an attempt to say that mcnabb is great, but more to ask the question how great is favre?  obviously there are some intangibles that separate the 2, but if you compare them the only real difference is the 1 super bowl.  obviously it should carry some weight to it, but how much exactly?  in other words, is favre really one of the top 3-5 qb's of all time like we've sort of been programmed to believe over the years, or is he just a ridiculous stat machine that doesn't have a lot of substance to back it up?

rjs246

He won a championship and holds every iron-man and statistical record there is. He's a great QB. He's also an unqualified douche.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

69,000 yards and almost 500 td is insane, that's not just some good stats
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Sgt PSN

that's my point.  his reg season accomplishments are off the charts awesome.  and given how insane those numbers are, aren't his post season accomplishments somewhat lacking in comparison?  and since qb's are mostly judged on the post season, does favre's playoff short comings knock him down a peg or 2 in the nfl qb hierarchy?
