I enjoyed the win.  Doesn't mean I can't be critical of the way they played, especially on offense.  They shtein the bed repeatedly today and will get waxed by a team that doesn't have a complete dumb ass for a head coach.

I wasnt seeing things was I when Childress declined the holding penalty to bring up 4th down for the Eagles, and the Eagles still kicked the FG?

coaching at its finest

I didn't see or follow many Viking games this season but I had heard what a putz Childress was but thought it was isolated to his clock management.  I learned a lot today.  That was just ridiculous when he declined that penalty.

It was the most beautiful, ugly playoff WIN I've seen in a while from the Eagles.

I couldn't give two shteins about how it happened.  They could've won 3-2 and I'd still be over the moon because they get a chance to play again next week and correct the mistakes.  There are 24 other teams that would kill to be where the Eagles are right now so it's all motherfargin good.

I don't know why folks expected them to just blow by the Vikings... because they stop the run so well... the Vikings are tailor made to force the Eagles into the pass, pass, pass, punt we all know and love so well and they did just that.  That style of offense has lost games against the Bears, the Skins twice and tied the Bengals.  Yesterday, it got them a playoff win.

They'll play better against the Giants.  It's on.

Wait, weren't they near the bottom of the league in pass defence?  And they lost Sharper in the first quarter.

I'd say they were a perfect setup for the Eagles to be successful.  They could get away with passing all the time, and Reid could justify it in his presser.
Anyone but Reid.

What a great trip, tons of eagle fans, and the host vikings fans were pretty cool tailgating. Stinkin cold, -1 at noon, never had my beer freeze up while I was holding it.

The only issue I had was a jagoff fan who didn't like people standing, she got security, he told us to sit down we did. Then 5 min later he came back and kicked a viking fan out for standing  :-D. During halftime I talked to the guard and pleaded my case, sure enough she did it again. The guard escorted me down 14 rows and sat me right next to him, that was cool.

THe westbrook run deflated that place, and set off thecelebration for all the eagle fans in attendance. The locals didn't undeerstand why there were fans in dresses and umbrella's, I did my best to tell them why, but I still don't think they got it.

They finished like 18th or 19th against the pass.  My point is that the Eagles haven't been succcessful this season playing pass, pass, pass... even though Reid won't admit it.  The Bengals were 25th against the pass when we played them.  Even in playing that predictable, largely ineffective style of offense yesterday... they still got the win.

and I dont know about you..but when I kept seeing the Birds run with the clock winding down I was getting a little pissed.

as much as we all scream for them to run, it was not methodical to think you can run against this defense. Nobody on our side of the ball was going to wear any Vikings defensive players down. The Eagles were getting nowhere moving a yard at a time, taking a big chance giving the ball back to the Vikings...so they needed to pass and they did

this was the game where they needed to pass much mor,e and should of been in the game plan right from the gip

when playing against a team with no offense who is no threat to put pts on the board on the road in a very loud dome you dont want to pass and risk sacks fumbles ints ect which is the only way the vikes were gonna score

run clock play defense and get the hell out of there

This is insanity. Those 0, 1 and 2 yard runs were the reason that Minnesota didn't have any time for a comeback. They essentially sealed the game. Every one of those seemingly fruitless plays took 35+ seconds off of the clock and took away any chance of a Minn comeback. Don't be an idiot.

no slick..Im talking about in the beginning to mid 4th when it looked like they were about to give the ball away AGAIN, running into brick walls every play

Unless you were beating off in the shower, did you see how effective McNabb was in the shotgun and how they were marching down the field? They needed points in a big way.

You have a much better efficiency passing on the Vikings--thats how teams won games against them this year...and the Birds were very close giving it away..so you my friend..dont be an idiot

No.  Those runs throughout the game were absolutely neccessary, no matter how many yards they picked up.  They kept the run a threat... and prevented the Vikings from simply pinning their ears back and coming after McNabb... which like IGY said, could've lead to sacks, fumbles, INT's.. even more so than it actually did.  Not to mention, it shortened the game and kept Peterson on the sidelines.

Even if it's not getting anywhere... you've got to keep the run in the back of the minds of the defense to keep that pass rush honest.
