again lack of scoring is gonna kill them...even with gagne they have way to many scott hartnell umburger dowd eager knuble richards type grinder guys and not enough speed...montreal skated circles around them...if they had more guys that could finish it would have been 10-1

another huge problem is lack of playmakers...other than briere they dont have a center that can set anyone up...carter really should be a full time winger...richards is a grinder type

again tho the goal is to make the playoffs and as a bonus win a round

Forsberg would be a great fit as a playmaker.  This team needs Gagne back and healthy.  Carter has looked pretty bad over the past few games.  Upshall came back and had a good game, i think he's going to definitely give a spark to Carter, but IGY is right, this team needs to start scoring 5 on 5

No, what this team needs to do is stop giving up 40 shots a night.

Biron made some ridiculous saves last night.  He did give up some soft goals too but that's going to happen when your defense allows the opposing team free reign.  It's like a turkey shoot out there most nights.  Defense is all about hard work and discipline and as I said earlier in the thread, they got out-worked by the Frogs last night and the Flyers simply aren't talented enough to rely on skill to win on a nightly basis.

And I agree about Forsberg.  They could definitely use his skills if for nothing else than to get the power play back on track.  That 3 on 1 shorthanded nonsense was embarrassing.

Romey, tey have Guenin and Rory in there now.  They need an upgrade, but with hatcher on the mend for the next month it could get ugly

Forsberg would be great when healthy.  The problem is, he's never healthy.

Seabiscuit36

True Geo, but you have to admit he would make a huge upgrade if healthy and here.  He's versitle, can play both wings as he did in Colorado, and is dynamic on the PP.  Hopefully his foot gets tested hard at nationals, and he signs and gets ready for NHL play in march

Richards with a fight and a goal, igy must be lovin this shtein.

Nitty looks good. Flyers are possibly the worst 1st period team in the league.

please explain this?

anyway my favorite philadelphia athlete since wes hopkins single handedly won this game tonight

his first period scrap was special...the entire period all the heavyweights had gunpowder on their knuckles but refused to set it off...flyers got absolutely dominated....so after waiting 19 minutes for something to happen the gawd decides to take matters into his own hands...the bombs he was throwing on laich had a purpose that i havent seen for a long time...maybe since tocchet in the early 90's...the scrap sent a message to the entire team to get your mother farging heads out of your asses and play....and thats exactly what happened for the next two periods....

oh by the way the gawd scored the key goal of the game too

Don't know if you could tell from your seats or if you saw the replay but Richards nose got busted open because Laich got a cheap shot in while the refs were trying to break things up. Aside from Biron Richards is team mvp by far.

I was at this game when Bridgman & Nystrom squared off at center ice.  I can't believe someone posted it on youtube.  I've been looking for this forever.

Mel Bridgman was a farging bad ass and Nystrom was no Hoyda either.
