Getting a game from Montreal on the road AND showing themselves that they can hang with the Habs is just as important as the final result of this series in the long run so I'm thrilled.

Also, Biron was out of his mind yesterday. Sweet jesus.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

YESSSSS PRICE MISTAKE = FLYERS GOAL

4-2, 2 mins left

That was my favorite goal of the playoffs easily.  Umberger made Price a bitch twice by losing the puck and then actually kicking it in.

Going to the conference finals would be really amazing, without Gagne and Knuble especially.  But losing to Pittsburgh or New York would suck worse than losing to Montreal.

biron played crazy yesterday.  he literally had the habs smashing their sticks in frustration.  loved it.

Hitler is a Flyers fan.  These are getting old though.

Anyway great game yesterday, went out to Cottage Cafe in BethanyBeach, got hammered with the wifey.  There were a ton of flyers fans there, one group of penguins fans, they were ok since the one guy has had season tickets since 1969, and was hammer and bought us drinks.

Biron was farging sick, i mean sick!  His save on Plektanc was great, and he made another one a few minutes later.  What bothers me is the shtein plays that opposing teams are taking against the Flyers, and they are not hitting back.  The double secret probation seems to have worked.  That said, the team is playing very well, the D needs to step up, that Markov Goal was all on Lupul who was completely out of position.

Probably the gayest thing ever posted on the web. Sun will like it, though.

SunMo

i hate it because it ruins everything that is true and pure
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

MDS

i hate it because its not funny. if it was funny i wouldnt hate it.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

QuoteMontreal coach: Timonen deserved sucker punch
By Tim Panaccio

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER

Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau's comment that Kimmo Timonen "deserved" the sucker punch he took from Tom Kostopoulos in Game 2 has the Flyers riled up for tonight's Game 3 at the Wachovia Center.

"If Montreal had scored and Steve Downie chased down [Alexei] Kovalev and popped him, I wonder if the hockey world you be as complimentary as this one," said Flyers coach John Stevens at the morning skate.

"Seems like when we do things like that, we get criticized. When other teams do it, they get complimented. It's nice to know we're so forgiving of those actions, the next time Steve Downie is involved in an incident such as that."

After Game 2, Stevens called the sucker punch "cowardly." On Sunday, Carbonneau defended the punch, saying Timonen should have skated to his bench instead of celebrating the Flyers' fourth goal that iced the game.

"They were winning," Carbonneau said. "They had just scored the [last] goal. This is not the right time to do it. He deserved it."

Kostopoulos told reporters on Sunday he "made a mistake" and "lost my cool" by punching Timonen in the face.

Derian Hatcher won a Stanley Cup with Carbonneau in Dallas in 1999. He said Carbonneau's reaction is consistent with his personality.

"I know how he thinks about the game and how it should be played," Hatcher said. "It's not a fair thing to say, but it doesn't surprise me that he would say it. I played with Carby seven years."

Timonen kept a straight face when told of Carbonneau's comments.

"He's the last guy I need to worry about," Timonen said. "Move on. It's Game 3. I didn't do anything. I heard him yelling something at me [from the bench]. I turned around the next thing I got punched in the face. Let's move on. It's part of the playoffs."

Obviously, the dislike between the two clubs has now reached a new level. Canadiens defenseman Francis Bouillon said, "It took only two games to hate them [Flyers]."

Two games?

"I'm surprised it took that long," said Scottie Upshall, who has gotten on the Canadiens' nerves in this series much like he did in the quarterfinals against Washington. "It's the playoffs. We're not friends out there. It's time when everyone puts everything aside . . . the hatred has been there all year, not matter what the sweater is. Montreal is just a team we're up against. We're in battle mode."

Timonen actually laughed when told of Bouillon's remarks.

"Who likes the Flyers?" he asked. "It's the playoffs. That's our style of play and we're gonna keep doing it. They have a lot of skill and we're gonna be hard on their top people."

Scott Hartnell said that Timonen was probably "the last guy on this team, maybe in the league" that deserved a sucker punch to the face.

"He plays hard and he plays the game right, he doesn't take cheap shots after the whistle," Hartnell said.

So what should be the Flyers reaction tonight? Vengeance?

"You don't target Kostopoulos," Hatcher said. "You target [Saku] Koivu and Kovalev."

Koivu?  Dead.
Kovalev?  Dead.
Neidermeyer??

Munson

Haha I love Downie. He draws too many penalties sometimes, but he's always in someones face after the play...I really hope he beats the crap out of someone tonight.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds
