Donovan McNabb is a whiny, coddled Latino that eats Jewish babies.

I think we should show McNabb some support instead of ripping him down.  He is the best Eagles quarterback we ever had.  Before him we would be lucky to make the playoffs.  Now we expect to win the Superbowl.  Big difference.

That is all.

Tom Brady

01 SB  1 TD, 0 INT, 86.2 QB Rating = win
03 SB 3 TDs, 1 INT, 100.5 QB Rating = win
04 SB 2 TDs, 0 INT, 110.2 QB Rating = win

= Elite

Donovan McNabb

01 NFCC 1 TD, 1 INT, 73.1 QB Rating = loss
02 NFCC 0 TD, 1 INT, 58.5 QB Rating = loss
03 NFCC 0 TD, 3 INTs, 19.3 QB Rating = loss
04 SB 3 TDs, 3 INTs, 75.4 QB Rating = loss

= very good QB, but not elite

Before people get too wound up, Rodney farging Peete helped post 55? points against the Lions.

A balanced offense = what can happen from week to week for the Birds. Yes, it was the Lions, but still, you rarely see domination in a game like yesterday in any NFL game. The run game totally set-up everything and it worked to perfection. Its fundamental football and the coaches did their jobs yesterday, FINALLY. Sticking to that game plan is something I am not sold on yet, because Reid could be calling the plays next week and McNabb could be throwing 40 plus passes.

They took full advantage of McNabbs abilities yesterday. The took the pressure off of him and ran. It totally opened up the field and he hit everyone. As Ive screamed for years, he's no 40+ pass QB and yesterday is a great example of what can happen when they run that type of offense. Im just crossing my fingers to see if the coaches stick to it, or if they just fall right back to the pass happy bullshtein that doesn't work with the players we have. If they do and they lose more and more, the ownership needs to step up and fire someone because its so obvious what works and what doesn't its pathetic to let it go on and on.

McNabb is a SB caliber player, he can def win the big one, its just he needs to be utilized correctly, just like the rest of the players. It all starts with the coaches and how they place the players.  The rest is up to the players to execute.

Even when utilized correctly, Donovan is not a crunch-time performer.  Ultimately, he will not win a Super Bowl.  The best that we can hope for is that the rest of the team is so good that McNabb just has to not lose the game.  The rest of the team, however, is not that good.

lost in all the hoopla is the fact those wide open lanes that curtis was running thru were created because the play action actually worked. on all 3 of his TD receptions there was a play action and the LBs and Safeties bit hard. why you ask? reid finally ran the ball early and ran it often....and westbrook was brilliant. it forced the defense to have to respect each and every fake.

westbrook wont be able to put up those numbers in the 1st qrt of each game but the very threat of him is enough. if the coaches stick to running him often in the first qrt and then utilizing the pass the offense can put up 20+ pts consistently i believe. but of course im pretty sure they wont. i just get the feeling reid will see the passing stats and go "oh wow why even run" and will forget that the run set up the passing attack yesterday.

Agreed - did you see the fake pitch to Westbrook where every player in the secondary bit?  That was farging beautiful.
An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

that was actually a pretty smart call considering we use that fake to the FB pitch out to Westbrook a lot now and it usually does work for a good 5-7 yd gain. i think i bit on that too and my eyes were following Westbrook.

i don't know why they don't run more simple pitch plays with Westbrook, they run him between the tackles too much IMO.  let him run wide with Andrews pulling and Tapeh leading the way, he'd be able to bust some long runs.

I think it depends on the defense, but even so, I prefer the majority of the runs up the middle.  The quicker you get Westbrook to the line of scrimmage, the more juice he has to make a big play.  Plus, both the Eagles starting tackles are not the most agile at this point in their respective careers.

i know they did that misdirection chest pass toss to westbrook twice yesterday on 3rd and ones but something they need to do a lot more of and this has been the case for years now is toss sweep westbrook more...they run him between the tackles way to much
