Send him to Chicago for Devin Hester and some top round draft picks, please.

QuoteAfrican-American quarterbacks face more pressure and more criticism than their white counterparts, Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb says in an interview scheduled to air on HBO on Tuesday night.

McNabb, in an interview on "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel," tells interviewer James Brown that African-American quarterbacks such as himself face added pressure because there are fewer black QBs -- and because some still don't want black athletes playing the position.

"There's not that many African-American quarterbacks, so we have to do a little bit extra," McNabb tells HBO. "Because the percentage of us playing this position, which people didn't want us to play ... is low, so we do a little extra."

Later in the interview, Brown presses McNabb on criticism of his performance -- and if African-American QBs are graded more harshly.

"I pass for 300 yards, our team wins by seven, [mimicking] 'Ah, he could've made this throw, they would have scored if he did this,' " McNabb tells HBO.

"Doesn't every quarterback go through that?" Brown asks.

"Not everybody," McNabb replies.

Brown then asks if the media is tougher on him than on white quarterbacks such as Carson Palmer and Peyton Manning.

"Let me start by saying I love those guys," McNabb tells HBO. "But they don't get criticized as much as we do. They don't."

In the interview, McNabb also talks to Brown about playing in Philadelphia, a city known for passionate sports fans who aren't afraid to criticize the city's pro athletes.

"Every year I'm part of some criticism," McNabb tells HBO. "But every day that we go through life, you're faced with a lot of adversity. Now the answer is how do you handle the adversity. How do you respond?

"I try to handle myself with class. I try to handle myself with dignity. I think sometimes people look to players to act out, speak loudly, pretty much be an idiot. But that's not me."

What a baby.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Chicago would not trade Devin Hester for McNabb straight up right now.

And even if they were stupid enough to do it (and had the cap room), McNabb would fail his physical.

What offensive linemen are available in this draft around the 5-9 range of picks.  Because even if we do get a high pick.  It's not going to a skill player like DeSean Jackson or Darren McFadden.  It will be some OG out of Troy State with high upside.

I mentioned Mcnabb playing the racecard in the gamethread last night.  I used to be a big fan but I'm tired of this shtein.

I used to love McNabb. Like, all-time favorite athlete, love. But if I have to read one more farging article like this I'm going to farging kill someone. Probably you. All of you.

I love how no one has mentioned with this that last night, McNabb referred to Curtis as "White Lightning", but does an interview about how he is viewed in a different light because he is Latino.

McNabb needs to shut the farg up. As if Peyton Manning didn't get criticized about everything he did before he won a ring. Easily more that anything McNabb has ever gotten.

You can turn yourself around in the NFL very fast. That has been proven. The Eagles themselves jumped from 6-10 to 10-6.

I agree Reid has to go and Heckert as well. Get someone in here who doesn't have these little asinine philosophies about certain positions not being valued. You need to value receivers and linebackers. You just do.

I think this team can still be fixed very quickly if they will just go out for once and land some impact farging players in the offseason instead of waiting for the first wave of free agents to all get signed by other teams. Also

The team isn't cooked yet though. It looks bad now, but everyone said the same thing last year. They aren't a championship caliber team, but playoffs are still a real possibility in this awful conference.

Looking at this team right now though they need 2 new defensive ends, a go to receiver, a nickel corner, and a threat as a returner. Add those things with a new coach like Gruden who will actually run the ball and be creative and you have a top team in the NFC.

You don't win by signing a lot of free agents. They need to draft better, plain and simple. They'll need 3 strong drafts to get the team back to a NFC championship type level.

#1 need is a new head coach who runs the farging ball and understands that adding the best players to the team is the most important thing, not position.

You need to do both. Their drafting hasn't been all-world, but it is hard to bash them about the drafts without having stats on hit and misses on every team in the league. Every team misses in drafts. I don't know if the Eagles do it more or less than anyone else.

I'd feel sorry for Hester when he says the talent we throw in front of him for special teams.

Oh yeah, where's my Considine blocking 4 punts a game??!?
Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No pro bowl WR's.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Retarded special teams.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  "I've got to do a better job."  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Running game shines for 3 plays. Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No adjustments anywhere.  Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  (repeat)

We could've had Hester instead of Justice if it makes you feel better.

QuoteFITZGERALD EYEBALLING ARIZONA EXIT?

Only two regular-season games into the Ken Whisenhunt era, rumors already are flying receiver Larry Fitzgerald is looking to leave the Cardinals when his rookie contract ends.

Fitzgerald, as the rumor goes, is not a big fan of Whisenhunt's run-based offense, and for good reason.  Fitzgerald currently is averaging only five catches and 53.5 yards per game, which puts him on pace for 80 receptions and 856 receiving yards for the season.  He currently has no receiving touchdowns in 2007.

There's no indication that Fitzgerald, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2004 draft, plans to try to force his way out prematurely.  Based on the escalators in his rookie contract, there was speculation when it was signed that the Cardinals would likely have to extend the deal after four seasons.  Since this is Fitzgerald's fourth season, and given that it's hard to justify two highly-paid wideouts (Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin) if the offense doesn't take full advantage of both of their skills, it could be time for the Cardinals to think about trading Fitzgerald.

One potential destination would be Minnesota, given that Fitzgerald is a native of Minneapolis and worked as a ball boy during the days of Cris Carter and Randy Moss.  Though plenty of folks are murmuring about the Vikes possibly sniffing around Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, we think it makes more sense for the Vikes try to bring Fitzgerald home.

Especially if the team wants to sell out the Metrodome on a regular basis.

Getting Fitz would be that true #1 this team needs

I'd cum on myself if we got Fitzgerald.

Ha. I saw that. There are about 29 teams that would give a whole lot more for his services, and try harder to get him than the Eagles ever would.
