The thing about Bloom is he seemed to have field presence, he knew where he was in space and when to fair catch, when to let it go.  G Lew has none of that, and JR Reed is a Kick Returner who is slow.  Watching other games yesterday it became painfully apparent that this team will not return any kicks beyond the 50 mark.  They are too slow, both physically and mentally

well lewis and reed being back there is an entirely unrelated situation to bloom...whether you agree with bloom being cut or not is one thing but once hes cut you dont put those two guys back there...

i would imagine reids thought process with regards to putting westbrook or lito at PR would be "only in an emergency"...well guess farging what...having two guys who have never returned punts in their entire life back there qualifies as an emergency...if not at the start of the game then definitely in a tied game with a minute left

i thought the oline played well after a rough start...mcnabb had crazy amounts of time on numerous pass plays in the second half...without seeing the actual film i cant tell if the wr's couldnt get open or if mcnabb wouldnt pull the trigger but damn he held the ball way to long on so many plays

i agree with the kotite looks...i dont know if reids home life is affecting him or not because hes always benn a disgraceful game day coach but damn he looked absolutely lost today

the inside the 5 series where he threw two passes that didnt cross the goalline

having buck run the ball on 1st and ten with 4 minutes left...westbrook the teams best player by far wasnt even in the game

Agree across the board.  I can't count the number of times when I shouted "throw the farging ball" yesterday.  I think McNabb had his eyes on the rush yesterday, rather than down the field.

What the hell are you talking about? His injury had nothing to do with it. He was running around all over out there breaking tackles.

He was running around because he was taking too long to get rid of the ball.  Like IGY said, we can't tell if the WRs were open, but it looked to me like he was skittish about the rush.

As for special teams, how the farg can they be so quick on the trigger with Bloom when they put up with Mahe for so long.  I think Reed will be fine with kick returns, but that was just a bad decision back at PR - he was trying to be a hero because it looked like that punt was going to roll deep.

Frankly, I think letting Harbaugh change jobs was the mistake of the year.  Correction on the previous comment - they aren't grooming him to replace JJ, they are putting him on track to get a HC job somewhere else.  Special Teams coaches don't get HC jobs.  It is OK to help out your staffers when you can, but if you think you have a serious shot at the Super Bowl, you don't seriously farg with your team to do a guy a favor.  Harbaugh could have waited a year or two until Kolb's first season (rebuilding year) when the impact of zesty special teams would be a lot less of a big deal.

I can't agree more.  The run/pass mix was fine.  This is the same offensive coordinator who made Jeff Garcia back into a good QB.  You can't blame the playcalling when your QB checks-down to the RB on key goalline plays.  I'm not calling for McNabb's job or saying the season is over but I'm objectively trying to evaluate their performance.  I know this is a pro-McNabb board and I'm a McNabb guy, but the Kolb pick was the right thing for this team for the future.  I'm torn as to whether bring back Mahe or see if Bloom can do it.  As IGY said, how do you develop the guy for two years and not give him a chance in the season?

thats what makes no sense, you have westbrook, your 75th anniversary best PR sitting there.  Why not just put him out there just to Fair catch the farging ball.  Instead fatass sends a guy who had only returned one PR in his entire career and that was 15 minutes earlier.  That was the biggest mental lapse i think i've ever seen Reid do.  Absolutely pathetic game plan and execution

he went to westbrook too quickly for it to be a checkdown...especially on the 3rd down play.  that was definitely designed for him.  they even had a lineman pulling out there, like some half assed screen.  it was just a poor play call.

that's supposedly why Marty is calling the plays...so Andy can be more in tuned to game situations, it obviously didn't help this time.

ice grillin you

it wasnt even a mental lapse...its what he planned to do all week...lewis and if not lewis then jr...he just didnt deviate from that because of his legendary stubborness

i feel like if bloom had made the team and gone into yesteday as the PR and got hurt in the 3rd quarter reid would have went into emergency mode and put westbrook back there but because he had in his head that those two guys (jr and lewis) and only those two he was going with them no matter what

The legendary "plug & pray" principle employed ad nauseum by Reid didn't work with respect to the return game yesterday.

Shocker, huh?

No question, not the start of the game, but the end

He's got to hold the ball longer and stare downfield to sell the LB and Safety to clear room for Westbrook.  Getting the ball in Westbrook's hands is not a bad thing.  It didn't help when Westbrook had that string where he couldn't catch the ball.

Which is more the funny because the same people are screaming for Iguchi to play 3rd.

Reid: "Greg, hurry up...get over here!"

GLew: "Yeah coach?"

Reid: "You feel like returning a kick?"

GLew: "Ummm...yeah...sure I guess."

Reid: "Jobs yours."

Keep up the good work Andy.

first of all, people are killing Andy Reid, so that makes no farging sense

second of all, Iguchi is still a better option than what they have

McNabb generally looked like shtein yesterday.  Worse decisions than usual.  Worse awareness than usual.  Worse agility than usual.  Generally, the offense had no sense of urgency and looked lethargic the whole game.

McNabb is not 100% and thus this team will do no better than 10-6 and will be a relative non-factor in the playoffs.
