I think a prudent thing to do would be to have someone who knows someone in the media (Ruben Frank maybe) give them a call and get to the bottom of things.  There's so many indians involved here with the Eagles, Spectacor & the Phillies, it would be nice to know EXACTLY who is in charge of enforcing the parking policies.  If it's the cops, fine, get the chief of police to make a statement.  If it's City Hall, get one of those clowns to comment on it.

Someone's got to be the head man in charge of that mess.  Get those lazy reporters off their fat asses and tell them to get cracking.

Moreover, if the Eagles are behind this, why would they even bother?  What do they care if people get together and party before the game?  I'm not saying they're not behind it, of course, it just seems like the stench of this is eminating more from center city than south Philly.

There's speculation that they desire to draw more people into their paid "tailgate" experience before the game.

There's something like that in the works. Not Frank...but somebody in the media.

From what I know, the Eagles establish policy, pass it down to Comcast-Spectacor, who contracts out to Central Parking, who administers and enforces the policies. So what you get is a long chain of finger pointing and deniability if there are any problems. Ultimately it lies with the Eagles, and that's where the questions are being asked. If it comes back that there is no change in tailgating policy, I don't see anything different happening come game day.

Sure is combined with the fact they just raised the parking prices. Thats not to complain about the price since its on par with other venues just to say charging more then enforcing rules that weren't in place before seems fishy.

i agree it sure does look shady...i just cant believe even banner and lurie would go that far

also isnt the eagles tailgate party like $225 per person

see even if you eliminated tailgating across the board i dont see the attendence at that tailgate thing going up

number one its for people who dont have a ticket and number 2 the cost eliminates 95% of the fans

the eagles may be behind the tailgate enforcement thing but i dont think its to attract more people to the tailgate party

in general, it just seems like the eagles are trying to do in the parking lots what they are succeeding with in the stadium, cleaning up the riffraff so their upper crust fans have a more enjoyable experience
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

yeah i agree with that.....what youve had all offseason and over the past several years is calls from angry old men haters who complain about things like drinking in the parking lots people being loud people saving spaces even tho there are still spots available

theres actually a douchebag on the eagle board that was complaining about "the lot being trashed" from tailgaters

btw what they should do is designate the jetro and wachovia lots as tailgating lots...even charge more for them if need be...but let people know that anyone can park in there but if youre not a tailgater you may wanna go to another lot...

in the tailgating lots youd have more lax rules regarding saving and partying in extra parking spaces

Rome

Beer.

Beach chair.

Tunes.

Hoagies.

Done.

And I wouldn't spend ten farging cents inside the stadium at this point.  My tickets have increased from $45 in 1999 to $75 today.  If they can't make a profit on that bit of ass raping, then farg them.

Rome

Haha.  I see you've met midnight-green, IGY.

He's a piece of work, to be sure.  It's amazing the number of topics he replies to in that forum.
