ice grillin you

you come to one game a year and arrive whenever you feel like it to a tailgatwe all set up for you

i am repsonsible for finding and saving spaces then setting up for upwards of 20 people a week

shocking that the level of worry would be different for us

I'm just as happy with a beach chair and a cooler of beer as I am with Filet Mignon & drinks with tiny umbrellas in them.

I just want to see my friends, hang out, shoot the shtein and flirt with all the message board chicks.  Is that so awful?

ice grillin you

i rest my case...in other words you have zero responsibilities and no one depending on you monday

i don't understand the sudden need to have strict rules in the parking lot.

it's not like things in that parking lot were out of control last year, as far as i could tell.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

ice grillin you

its never been out of control and no one in the history of the sports complex has even driven down and not gotten a parking spot....if this is all true (and hopefully it isnt) im not exactly sure whats behind it...its definitely being driven by the eagles tho and it has nothing to do with the actual spaces

Other than coming over to your tailgate and giving you the biggest hug (non-homo) of your life, no.

Bro, all I'm saying is stressing out over it isn't going to make things better.  Call your fellow tailgaters and tell them the situation.  If they're at all aware of the situation, I'm sure they'll make the best of it.  I mean, what other choice to any of us have?

PS: I was tailgating when you were in grammar school.  I love it just as much as anyone here.  If I didn't, would I fly two thousand miles in 24 hours to come up there?  The game's on television, after all.

i never questioned how much you like tailgating or how long youve done it

i was pointing out the difference in why you could care less if these rules get enforced and why i might be a little worried

i cant imagine how the guys who have way bigger tailgates than any of us are feeling

They're probably shteinting their pants right now.  The thing I can't understand is how are they going to enforce these rules uniformly through 28,000 parking spaces?

Moreover, if the Eagles are behind this, why would they even bother?  What do they care if people get together and party before the game?  I'm not saying they're not behind it, of course, it just seems like the stench of this is eminating more from center city than south Philly.

ice grillin you

the reason i believe the eagles are behind it is because i know several people who have called the eagles and the response they get is 'the rules have always been in place'

not 'we dont know why this is happening' or 'so and so is enforcing this we have nothing to do with it'

Actually, last year vs the giants. All the lots were closed before noon and traffic was at a standstill all over the place.

I left king of prussia at 10:00am...and I just barely got into the stadium for opening kickoff, and I was on backroads and then sitting in the middle of Packer Ave for 90 minutes while the attendants tried to figure out what to do. I eventually got to a cross street where i shot up to Oregon Ave to take the subway.

I actually sent MURP 2 text messages, the first saying I was about 10 minutes away...the second (almost 2 hours later) apologizing for not making it.

all the lots were not closed...the wachovia lot was...it always takes a long time to get in if you come to late...but theres never not parking spaces available in the complex somewhere

I'm telling you, all the offical lots were full.

You can say they were open, but the fact remains that the lots were full last year for the giants game.

I wasn't even trying to get into the Wachovia center lot...I was stuck on Packer ave trying to get to the lots behind Citizens Bank Park.

was another event taking place at the same time?

Also - doesn't Spectacor control the Wach lots?  The Eagles have about 2500 parking spaces in the Linc lot and that's all they control.

I don't remember actually. I just know the lots were full and people were forced out of them.

The only other game I went to (Carolina) I took the train down.
