When you're in the heat of battle, backing up toward the goal to try to head a ball in, sometimes you don't know where your hands land. I've seen players actually drag down the opposition trying to get a goal. However, I'm not overly impressed with Crouch--he played for a team that was relegated two years ago and Liverpool signed him. Over here, they count your international goals and appearances even if they're in friendlies(exhibition matches). I think it would be far more meaningful to count them during competitive matches instead.
