So nothing from Undertow at all.

LOL

SD

iirc they didn't do any songs from Undertow when I saw them in 2006. I think it would be cool if they busted out some songs from Opiate.

Here was the set list from their 2006 show...a few variations but almost the same:
STINKFIST
THE POT
FORTY-SIX & 2
JAMBI
SCHISM
LOST KEYS / ROSETTA STONED
WINGS FOR MARIE / 10,000 DAYS
LATERALUS
ÆNEMA

I saw them 2 or 3 times prior to the show in 2006 but the 2006 show was easily the best show I ever saw in my life.

Taking the g/f to see Rain Tuesday night at the Mann Music Center in Center City. For those of you who are unfamiliar with them they're a Beatles cover band. They do a decade by decade theme (black suits/Sgt. Pepper/Hippie crap) then do an encore. Pretty much the best cover band in the world.

Oh yeah, and TOOL is tonight. Spiral out.

Rome

I saw them in Daytona 3 or 4 years ago.  They're quite excellent.  There's like 14 or something musicians doing different eras.  The Revolver/Rubber Soul era was the best.

I saw Tool 5 times in 2007 after 10k Days was released. Basically the same show, with minor changes to set list. I really have no need to go see them play the same stuff again. Seen them a dozen times. Until they release a new album they are not getting my money.

Going to see Dr. Dog March 25th at Electric Factory and Delta Spirit at Union Transfer March 30th.

I wouldn't mind seeing either of those bands.

There's only 3 things in life that I'd rank ahead of watching TOOL, more specifically watching them perform Lateralus:
Watching my daughter be born
Watching the Phillies win the World Series
Having sex with a really hot chick

Everything else pales in comparison. I'd watch the perform every night if it was possible.

They were incredible tonight. Really wanted to hear Hooker with a Penis live, they started off the show with it. Jambi live was holy shtein good. I'm not a big fan of Schism but live it's one of my favorite songs to hear. Danny Carey wore a Kansas Jayhawks basketball jersey during the show. Maynard had a mowhawk with glasses.

The bad:

They played every song on their set list except for The Pot.
They were anal as farg about taking photos. They warned us twice on the way in. My room mate took a shot of the stage 10 minutes before they came on and a security guard came up and told him he would be asked to leave if he did that again. Then during 46 and 2 when the laser lights really started going off there was some dick on the side of the stage who would point a laser at anyone with a cell phone, security would make their way over there then escort them out. Lame.
Like every show at SBC the bass was too much...it drowned the vocals.

Rome

As much as I love their music they really are pretentious fargheads.

Meh - you take the good with the bad and in their case their ridiculous behavior is worth tolerating.  I don't really pay attention to them anyway.  What's going on behind them and the noise they're making is what makes the show incredible.

SD

What's ironic is half their tour is already on youtube so who gives a farg if I snap a photo? Regardless they were pretty amazing as usual and I was just happy to be in attendance...plus the ticket was free and we had VIP which entitled us to free sandwiches and shtein (still had to pay for beer). I've probably been to the SBC around 30 times but that was the first time for an indoor event.

I swear to god when they perform Lateralus my brain goes into convulsions. I don't know how people can handle drugs combined with their shows. That would be sensory overload.

SD

Meanwhile pretty much the entire show from last night is already on youtube. Here's Lateralus:

Wow is about all that comes to mind.

Honestly people at shows with cameras/phones up the whole damn time should be drug out back and have their skull caved in. Just disconnect for 1-2 hours, focus on the whole experience and stop starring into your little screen when the real thing is right in front of you.
