I have to agree with Dio on this one, for sure.  I gave up arena shows ten years ago.  Too big, can't see shtein, and the sound is almost always distorted from teh echo.

I now go to  a) small bar places with <700 people, or b) outside amphitheaters, but more for the experience and people watching than expecting to see a great show.  Music is usually OK, but people watching puts it over the top.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

mussa

believe me, i agree. but seeing your favorite band in a pit of shtein sounds good to me.

Rome

I just got tickets to see Tool in Jacksonville.  Apparently they released seats up front because I got two in the section just to the left of the stage, 12th row seats 1 & 2.  They're basically the best seats in the house.

I don't know how I got them because I was sure they were sold out.  Guess not.  Woot!

Saw (hed) pe last night on a whim.  Buddy of mine called around 10pm and said they were headlining a show in J-ville.  Got there around 10:45 and they weren't scheduled to come out until 11:30.  Apparently the bands prior to were a bunch of unknowns because it seemed like everyone was showing up around 11.

2nd time I've seen them live and they friggin r@\/\/k3d!!  Not bad for $10.  This was by far, the coolest thing to ever happen in this town.

They farging kick ass. I'm probably going to go to the Strange Noize Music Tour here August 7th with Tech N9ne, Hed, Kottonmouth Kings.

What songs did they play, do you remember? Represent and War would be badass in real life I'd imagine.

Actually all of their songs would probably be badass in real life. Nevermind.
