Got last minute tickets to the unity show in Charlottesville. The show was predictably great.

The Roots played with Brittany Howard (from Alabama Shakes) and Farrell both of which were phenomenal. Didn't stay for DMB because hahahaha no, but missed the Stevie Wonder appearance. Justin Timberlake was dreamy. Ariana Grande was irritating. Cage the Elephant was really good when they weren't talking. Some country dude was there too.

It was a blast but they didn't serve beer so F THEM.

Forgot about this thread. Sounds like a solid festival. Out on Ariana...something about her is awful. Or maybe it's everything.

I found out my kid is going to play a gig with Steve Miller in the next couple of months. Granted Steve Miller is a billion years old at this point, but from his deathbed the last request my dad ever had for my son was to learn a Steve Miller song. If he knew he'd be playing with him a few years later, he'd have died. Hey, maybe he knew? Kidding aside, pretty cool coincidence.

I forgot to mention that Coldplay was the surprise guest. I could take or leave them but there's no denying the lead singer's talent. Tens of thousands of college girls went squish during their set.

Plus when he dies and meets up with St. Peter he can say he was married to the Paltrow chick and just like that he'll get the VIP treatment thru the pearly gates.
