id rather have the cowboys OL and the washington gm
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I like the Eagles GM.

I do not like the taterskins.

I'll take the Eagles running game as a whole...coaching included

General_Failure

I'll take the entire Dallas offense straight up. Hell, at least you know Romo can throw the ball forward more often than not.

As good as Dallas' OL is, and it is good, I am really interested to see if their belief that any RB can gain yards behind it.

One of the biggest storylines in the NFL this season IMO

justin forsett ran for 1300 yards last year....alfred morris came from the 6th round and has run wild behind a hideous offensive line...ben jarvis green ellis used to run for a 1000+....the list goes on and on...running backs are irrelevant these days and are plug and play guys...and that goes for offensive lines not half as good as dallas

rb's are plug and play these days (which i agree with) and yet so many whined when shady was sent to buffalo. that said, the eagles' oline does have question marks about it that the dallas squad does not.

still though, while dallas was 3rd in rushing last year, the eagles were 7th, only seperated by 188yards ... during a year when the team saw a ton of injuries on the oline. would seem chip is getting more out of less.

even more reason signing demarco murray and matthews was preposterous

it does seem like overkill. but hey chip did get a lb coming off a season ending knee injury out of the shady deal.

i def understand the shady move and have no problem with it, i just hope that alonso can play well after that injury. i assume he will, guys come back from that injury. my only question is will he be 100% this season.

but yeah the money spent on murray and matthews makes me think, wtf was that about ?

its all gonna play out and fans dont have to wait long to see this particular discussion come to a head.

i dont think its a matter of playing itself out...im not saying hes a bad running back hes a fine back who may very well have a good season....but no matter what happens there was no justification to give a guy that kind of money who has had one great year is injury prone and will be splitting touches with ryan matthews and darren sproles...add in ryan matthews money and the fact you already had a top 3 back in the nfl in shady and it makes even less sense

short of demarco murray running for 2000 yards and 15 td's and the birds making a really deep playoff run it will never make sense to me

but to your point yes if he runs for 1200 yards theres gonna be some idiots after the fact who say chip was a genius for getting him

If he runs for 1200 yards Chip's gonna try to cut him before he gets fired himself.

In 2013 Dallas's O line was a huge question mark, they didn't play close to the level they did last season. Murray still rushed for over 1000 yards in 14 games and actually had a higher YPC.

To me there's 6 elite RBs in the league, in no particular order:
AP
Shady
Lynch
Charles
Bell
Murray

Murray's an elite power back, he fits the system perfectly. Matthews is a great complimentary back. They had no one behind Shady last season. Polk couldn't play half the season and Sproles is a change of pace back. If Shady would have went down they were screwed. Chip's offense runs the ball, it makes the offense go. I have no problem with having RB depth.

ice grillin you

whatever demarco murray or ryan matthews rushes for this year could have been matched by a draft pick

and depth isnt the issue...we all want depth at the rb position...and almost all teams have depth...its a two back league now...this is not a question of depth but of using resources in an intelligent manner
