I seriously doubt it.  But yeah, I'll probably get shipped off across the county and given cows to count.

I left my past job in May. Today my old boss contacted me, realizing that payroll messed up and over the past year I was shorted a lot of money. A check is now on the way.

You put her ass to sleep?

Good on your ex-boss for letting you know. I am shocked that the company didn't just keep it. If it was run by Republicans then you know damn well they'd keep it.

Congress made a 'surprise' visit last week. They were talking to all of us. Some shtein is about to go down.

What did you do now, SD

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

QuoteRuell said the practice of doctoring claim dates stems from staff being rated on performance through a point system and expected to process claims "perfect and fast."

"It's like a system designed to fail," she said. "So it breeds a lot of issues where people are trying to play tricks to look good for Washington."

shtein hit the fan at my office this past week, the Congressional visit I mentioned earlier turned into a huge fiasco. Our Director who took over last Friday has already been shtein canned.

Here's the 5 hour hearing before the congressional VA committee

Here's the high lights of what went down on my floor

QuoteAs they waited in a conference room for an administrator to greet them, one staffer got up to use the restroom, Miller said. Near the bathroom's sinks, the staffer found a yellow spiral notebook with the words "ask ignore Rory" - referencing the committee's staff director, Rory Riley - scribbled half way down the page.

Miller said the notebook belonged to Filipov, now the center's assistant director, who met with the congressional staff moments later. Filipov wrote the notes during an earlier conversation that morning with Rubens, who at the time was the Veterans Benefits Administration undersecretary for field operations.

Miller believes Rubens instructed Filipov to ignore his team's requests for information.

"The acting director was in possession of a note upon which was written ignore my staff. Am I surprised? No. Actually I'm shocked," Miller said at Monday's hearing.

The note also included two comments beside Riley's name: "arrogance" and "stick up her ass."

At the top of the paper were written and circled the last names of two whistle-blowers from the Philadelphia office, Ryan Cease and Kristen Ruell.

QuoteCongressional staff on an unannounced visit to the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs regional office July 2 were given work space in a room wired with an active microphone and camera, according to the chairman of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs.

Holy shtein how does that get so screwed up? What is the fix? How do they do it?

My disability claim was finally processed. Got the notification 2 weeks ago....90% disabled, which is going to pay me a very comparable amount each month to what my pension would have been had I been able to put in the full 20 yrs.

I was also offered a promotion last week and accepted the offer on Monday, so now I'm the Transportation & Operations Manager. Decent bump in pay, not a lot of additional responsibility, but most importantly, I'm moving from nights to days.

Oh, and the feds dorked up on my tax return and I finally got my refund a few days ago. These last 2 weeks have been excellent for my wallet.
