I hate my job!

Well, I gave my two weeks notice on Monday. She seemed surprised that I was leaving so quickly, but I don't think she was surprised that I was leaving. She seemed like she was happy for me. There was not even a hint of how things could change to retain me (I probably wouldn't stay anyway, but the thought would have been nice).

My main task now is to organize my activities so that they can be handed off to some other poor schmuck(s). I'm fine with that, but somehow I feel like I'm abandoning my coworkers. I suppose I'll get over it once I see this farging place in my rear-view mirror for the last time.

I'm close to getting a short term contract job, so that's a positive. If it doesn't happen, I'll just have to double my efforts to find something to cover the bills for a while. Thankfully I can go on the wife's health insurance, so I can even work a couple of part-time gigs if necessary. At least I'll be struggling on my own terms, rather than having to take the daily ration of crap from my "superior."

I heard from the job recruiter. I got the job, and I start on the 15th.   :evil

Congrats and enjoy your two weeks of FUnemployment

Zanshin

Awesome, Sus. I'll enjoy that vicariously.

Fanfargingtastic.  Glad to hear it.

Now try not to think about why you took so long to get out.

Good luck, you'll probably be a lot happier not to mention healthier. Long term job stress can bring people down, especially as you get older. Good to get out of it.

So I finally got my raise today. It took several months of negotiation and back and forth but after doing almost two million in sales the last two months that was my hammer to nail this down. My sales partner and I handle the biggest account in the company and we've not only maintained the account but grown it.

I get paid a percentage of the gross profit sold each month. And the bump in commission percentage comes out to about $22k more a year.

I may hate Houston but this helps make the decision to stay worth it.

Big ups to phreak tonight for getting his! (Standing-O)

Thanks man.

I planted the seed of a raise in October and really started pushing in February. I began to think about looking elsewhere in the field, perhaps as a vendor so I could live wherever in Texas (would have picked San Antonio) and travel a lot. But glad I didn't have to pursue other routes as I really dig this company.
