During rush hour in the morning, I'm usually too tired to have any idea what's going on.  As for rush hour after work, I'm so antsy to get home I totally zone out the train and everyone around me. 

I don't think there's anyway I could do what he did, especially with my two kids standing right there like in the story.

Interviewed for a new job with the VA on Friday, was told today I was selected. I start on the 24th. I'l be adjudicating claims for compensation. In a year I'll go from a GS 9 to a 10. Slowly making my way up to igy level.

My co-worker's fiancee has about 150% rating from all his disabilities but isn't 100% disabled (he's rated at 90%).

Any chance you could fix that type of retardation so people who get blown the farg up in active war will stop getting dicked around by the VA?

Can he still work? If not he can file for individual unemployability. His % might not be 100 but he'd be paid at the same rate. And don't tally the individual %s up to figure the %. The VA goes by the whole person theory.

I just found out that the budget having been underestimated so badly in combination with extravagent expenditures (eg ~50 mil for air freighting transmissions to India) means we're going to have rolling layoffs where all management and salaried employees must take a week off in October, and possibly another week, or even two, by year end. Why couldn't they have waited a week to decide this so I'd have the option of being laid off the first full week of November and not have to burn vacation time for th NOLA game? dicks

Correct. I filed for compensation but I don't think I'll get it since I received a severance. Still, not having a job is awesome. I'm in Tennessee right now visiting family I haven't seen in nearly 20 years and when I go back to PA next week I'm going to spend the rest of the year organizing and selling all of the stuff my mom has piled up in her garage that she's been trying to get rid of for years.  So I'll basically be making a little money through eBay and Craigslist.  And hopefully i can start working on my Willys as well  So maybe I'll look for work after the new year.
