Well, Bozeman PD is out. Got an email from them today saying I didn't "make the cut" to get called in for an interview. Not sure how because of my test scores. Squaw applied too and she didn't receive a rejection letter today so maybe she's still in the running.  I've still got applications in with Billings and Helena but Bozeman was my preference. Oh well.

Ok, that just means we're gonna have to move 3 hours away from you so that we don't see each other as we do now. 

If its any consolation, MT is likely out now. We have interviews in Billings but that's an 8 hour drive to see my kids so it's not going to let me see them much more than I do now. 

But I did just apply for a recruiting job with the Corps....Peace Corps that is.  This one is in Spokane, which is kind of a shteinhole town, but I'd probabably live in Coeur D' Alene so I could pretty much see my kids every day if I want.

I also applied for a job with the Army Corps of Engineers in Seattle. Wouldn't mind living over there again either.

I did, but I checked the other day and it's stuck in my outbox and won't send. Tried hitting send/receive over and over and it wont budge.  Can't delete it or open it. Scanned for viruses and that's coming back negative as well.  And the attachment size is well within regs too. Farging Outlook. I should have bought a MacBook instead of the desktop so I could travel with it.

How zesty is it out there? My office is hiring 15 new agents. They interviewed 70 people for those 15 position, 10 of the applicants have a Masters Degree and 2 have a Doctorate. The position they're applying for has a probationary period of one year at the GS 7 level which pays about $40k a year.

its more of a cultural problem than anything. growing middle class, easily available resources to move up, but the upper class has gamed the system and made it so almost nobody can make it through but them.

also, for some reason everyone bought the dog and pony show that you need to go to college and get a masters and all that. so there are too many people who have too many years of higher education but there are not enough jobs to support that.

fact is some of those people should be working at wal mart or serving drunk morons at chiles. like we just had a guy who turned down a job here because the salary wasnt high enough. he doesnt have a job. he thinks hes worth 40-45. my editor doesnt even make that.

people believe they are farging awesome and farging worth something theyre not. everyone is worth what the market says they are. just because you spend $100k on some degree doesnt mean dick. maybe instead of going to school for 3 years you should have been doing grunt work for XXXX company, and then after those 3 years are up, you get a better job there.
