Then get out of this thread, job lover.

Also, tomorrow is the last day on my contract and I'm still waiting for my reenlistment to get approved.  It's at the last level of approval and I'm not worried about it getting denied, but holy farg, quit taking your sweet ass time and approve this shtein.  I submitted the paperwork almost 2 weeks ago.  Farging gov't workers busy farging off instead of doing their jobs.

PS....Me and a few guys from my office locked the doors at 9am on Friday and spent the day golfing.

Yeah, so 6 weeks ago the Marine Corps told me to submit for reenlistment and gave me orders to McGuire for Sept.  Today they decided to go back to plan A and send me packing.  Reenlisment denied because apparently I'm "not compatible with the needs of the Marine Corps."  Gave me a 4 month extension to get my shtein ready.  Wow.  Just wow.

I'm running this shtein up the farging flagpole, starting with a letter to my Congressman.

Motherfarger, I typed this long ass response, got a connection error and have to start over.

You'll have a new appreciation for life when you get away from all that bullshtein. When people would say to me "the grass ain't always greener on the other side" when I was contemplating getting out...they were dead wrong. It's a million times better.

Starting with your Congressman is a great idea. They get results for crap like this. We deal with Congressional bullshtein at my job and although 3/4 of the people who contact Congress don't need to [not to mention it clogs up the system] some of them get results.  If the issue of why you were in trouble in the first place has been resolved they can't go back and farg you over again for it. What punishment did you receive?

When I was in deck we had a guy who submitted a chit to go to 'A' school every day until it was approved. The Divo told him not to submit it anymore and that he would keep on denying, but it's his right to submit one every day. Eventually he had a meeting with the Captain and 3 months later he was off to school. Persistence pays off. I'd resubmit your request to let them know you want to stay in.

Yeah, I'm working on an Adminstrative Action form right now.  The thing that pisses me off most is this:

I was denied reenlistment in Sept because I had been passed twice for promotion.  I was extended until April so I could get looked at again in Jan.  I was passed again in Jan and was told in Feb to file for separation.  Then in March I got an email from my monitor that said I was approved for continued service, but that I would be re-evaluated each year should I get passed for promotion again.  So basically I was told to reenlist for 3 years but could potentially be forced out next year if I don't get promoted.

But it turns out that submitting my reenlistment again was just a "formality" that had to be done and it doesn't seem like there was ever any actual intent to keep me around long enough to make the move to NJ.  So now I'm really pissed because it would have been nice if someone told me in March that it was still unlikely that I'd be retained.  Had I known that, I probably wouldn't have turned down job interviews or set my resume to private on the job sites I posted one on.

And to add insult to injury here, on Apr 12 the gov't approved early retirement for people with at least 15 years of service.  That sounds good.....I'll just do that.  Oh, wait.....the criteria to be eligible for early retirement says that there has to be "viability for advancement."  Guess that doesn't apply to someone who has been passed for promotion 3 times and denied reenlistment twice now.

Yeah, so the only difference between now and last Sept is that I'll be 1 year closer to retirement when I separate later this year.  Thanks for dangling that carrot infront of me a little longer.  Dicks.

They're farging with you. I'd let Congress know. The military pulls shtein like this and thinks they can get away with farging with peoples lives. "We'll show you". Regardless of the outcome be thankful you'll be done with all the bullshtein. I had some worries about working in the real world again but really it's one million times better than putting up with the Navy's bullshtein.

It's not one million times better when they drop your ass days before you qualify for lifetime retirement support.  I'd raise holy hell, Sassy.  You've served too long to be treated like that and the money is f'n important.  You ought to be able to leave the service with some retirement security, for farg sake.

Get after their asses, Sarge. That's a kick in the balls and I hope you're able to get it reversed.

Just do nothing. All of these other recommendations sound exhausting.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

I know that it's doesn't change the circumstances one way or another, but is it that it's just bureaucratic BS in which you happened to get caught up, or is someone actively farging with you?

So the latest thing here is the use of Microsoft Lync. It's kind of a marriage between LiveMeeting and AIM. You log onto your computer, and people can see that you're there, so they can IM you, as well as engage you in collaborative meetings with screen sharing and the like.

I don't mind the meetings if they're planned and scheduled, but there's no way in hell that I'm going to have random people pester me with IMs all day. It's just too intrusive, and I don't need the interruptions. I'm just fine with e-mail and phone calls, thank you. So I have my Lync status set to off-line as much as possible. People have asked me about it, but I usually change the subject.
