so what's the plan?  are you digging a tunnel or something?  maybe escaping through the air vents?

I plan on changing my state to pure liquid, and seeping out of the cracks in the floor.

Been interviewing at the US Army's athletic dept for the last month and got a call this weekend that I got the gig. Moving up to West Point at the end of the month...anyone know of any spots up there to call home?

Gonna be a bitch driving from there to the Linc every week, but whatever..

Drunkmasterflex

Congrats! What are you doing for the athletic department?

ive been up there twice

campus is old but nice, especially for a football game. the town isnt exactly amazing but youll obviously be surrounded by army peoples, so im sure youre already cool with that. not a terrible drive to philly. 1.5 - 2 hours tops.

congrats on the job, youll be the only jew there.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

ice grillin you

its easily over two hrs depending on traffic...probably like 2.5 - 3 on the average....and less with absolutely no traffic
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

well done, Die-Hard, congrats.

don't know the area, so I know this much:  it's a 2 hour drive

How the farg can anyone make that drive in 2 hours?  It's at least two hours to NY and then West Point is another hour north of the city.

Ha, thanks guys. Gonna be leading a team selling all of Armys sports properties. Mostly football, obviously but their hockey and lacrosse programs are kinda big too. The area is sweet - I was only up there for the interview process, but I got a tour and its hard not to get charged up while youre up there.

And theres no way WP to Philly can be done in 2 hours. Its easily 3 - and I have a heavy foot.

Sgt PSN

3 hours sounds about right.  And yeah, it's a pretty nice area up there.  About an hour away (give or take) is a town called Newburgh which has the bar from Super Troopers.  So if you had any reservations about moving up there, you can pretty much eliminate all doubt now.

Congrats on the new gig, btw.

newburgh is much closer than that...its the next town up the hudson i believe and is half hour tops away

im semi familiar with that area as i have a house farther upstate ny that i go to all the time

the foilage on the hudson up there in the fall is absolutely gorgeous..one of the cooler things ive done is having gone to a couple army football games in october...being right there on the river with all the trees is awesome

not sure id wanna live there tho dh...but if you are just there for a few years like i suspect your plan is it could be ok..something different to do

also about a half hour away is the woodbury common outlets...the best outlets in the entire world...if nothing else your girl will LOVE them

Congrats on the gig. I've been up there a few times, and it's nice...particularly in the fall. And it's certainly more toward 3 hours than 2. Good luck with it.

Susquehanna Birder

Pretty cool gig - congratulations!
