That's a zesty job, but I am impressed that it is done to that level.
My imporession of the treatment of dad and wounded given these days is to bury them under the rug asap.

That's the Bush White House treatment, not the way the Services themselves do it.

well, the VA is obviously all kinds of farged up.  and that's not really a surprise...the government claims to support the troops but they send them to fight unneccesary wars, without the necessary planning troops or even equipment for the ones they do send, and once they do return home, they are neglected and forgotten except for campaign stops and photo ops/bench seats behind the chimp in chief

but I digress.

the troops themselves likely bend over backwards for the families of KIA soldiers...

Unfortunately, I completely agree with Dio here.  This administration has totally farged up.

The VA is a complete mess.  The people who work for the VA are great and do what they can but at the same time, there is so much red tape wrapped around everything that it makes it extremely difficult for veterans to recieve treatment for things that are 'out of the ordinary', especially if the condition's origin can be traced/linked to their time in the service but didn't manifest until after discharge.

PoopyfaceMcGee

Was the discharge oozy?

Father Demon

As a vet, I agree 100% with Dio.  What the administration does for for the military is horrible.  Not just this administration, but every administration in decades.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Wouldn't it just be simpler to kill service personnel after the government is done using them?

I mean, really.

Phanatic

The Bush flavor of republicans are so pro military until service to the country is actually over. They all got exceptions and never had to see the real shtein a day in their life. Then 40 farging years later they're politicos trashing real vets service because it suits their purpose.

Just speaking from my experience I've been treated 100x better as a Vet then I ever was while on Active Duty. College is paid for, I get a monthly payment for my disability, the VA hospital is there at my disposal. I was assigned a counselor for the vocational rehabilitation program I just enrolled into. Can't really complain on my end.

That's because you don't have any out of the ordinary needs.  Let's say that 10 years from now you get cancer and it's determined that the source/cause is because of something you were exposed to while serving on ship.........good luck getting treatment for it.

Of course, the more likely scenerio would be that you get aids from all the ghey buttsecks you guys have together so maybe that would have been a better example.

If we did a poll how many members of  :CF are in the military or were in the military and how many of those people felt it was a good decision for them?

Phanatic

I do feel it was a good decision for me. I wasn't exactly college material financially or otherwise.
