When I was in Belize, our guide said that gas prices are set by the government, and everybody has to sell at that price. What draws customers to particular places isn't the price of the gas, but rather the extra stuff like convenience and service. What a concept.

I'm almost never in favor of government intervention, but I'm willing to make an exception here.
