Green's got something wrong with his leg/foot right now.  May or may not be serious but if it is, you might want to upgrade your QB position because no fantasy team is going to win with Ron Mexico at the helm.

That team is pretty weak.  Who did you pick first?

You must have had a pretty late pick in the first round.

I'd say that you have a decent starting squad but zero depth and you're players are going to have to perform every single week in order for you to do any dammage. You don't have any players that can blow up and carry the team themselves.

I think that team sucks pretty hard.

That's odd, the other FF Draft forum I posted on had everyone in support of this team.   ???

Any opinions on where the team is weak/where it can improve?

Green is pretty universally rated as the 4th FF QB.

**Holt and Horn are both top 7 WRs.

Crumper is either the 3rd or 4th TE.

Carolina has a solid D.

Rudi and Portis are both between the 8th-13th RBs, so while neither is a dominating FF back, I'd imagine they are solid?

Coles is not a top 7 WR. Crumpler is a very good TE, but probably no better than 5th. (Gonzo, Gates, Witten, Heap maybe Shockey). Green is fine. Portis and Rudi Johnson are second tier.

Overall the team is solid, you just don't have anything that is going to carry you week after week.

I shouldn't let you think I'm saying the team blows.  It's just kinda weak.  You dont' have a single dominant player.  As rjs said, you must have been picking late in the first round?  Everyone should produce more or less, but you want a meal ticket to go with the biscuits and gravy.

I'd try to unload Vick to someone with a big Vick boner.  Pick up the biggest value you can and then re-evaluate.  Whatever you get, trade again.  The second trade, after robbing someone in exchange for Vick, is the one you'll use to get a blind-start-every-week player at WR.  I say WR because that's the weakest part of your roster.  Coles is good, but his foot will never be right, and the same goes for Pennington's shoulder.  [That's a disaster in the making right there].

And dump Cooley.  You can do at least as well as him off the wire the week Alge's on his bye.  No good reason to carry him until then.

No, but Horn and Holt are.

Agreed.

Unlike Dio, I think that WR is your strongest position. You just don't have that top-end RB (unless Portis is suddenly allowed to do what he does best in DC, but I doubt that will happen until they start cut-blocking Denver style).

I agree with most of what you said, and I will probably try to unload Vick, but I'm not sure WR is the position I'd go with it.  You said to get a blind-start-every-week player at WR?  I figured Holt certainly is, and Horn probably is.  I drafted Cooley in the 15th, because he think he has a legit chance to put up big numbers at TE being the taterskins only redzone option at WR/TE.

I'm with you on that, but I picked 11th, and there was no top flight RB left.  I figured I was lucky to grab RJ and Portis, and still have Holt and Horn available on the next turn back.

Diomedes

I don't feel strongly that you should address WR before RB.  I could be brought around.  I just don't have much faith in the Jets passing game this year, and after Coles you're pretty weak.  But I'm not a big fan or Portis either, so maybe you address that instead.

Whatever you do, capitalize on people's irrational love of Vick.  It's like taking candy from a baby.  And think about dropping the extra TE.  Why not carry another backup RB or WR in that slot on the chance they blow up?  If they don't, you drop 'em when you need a bye week TE.  If they do, then you've got a nice problem on your hands...

Breakdown of why I think your team will suck below:

QB- T. Green, M. Vick
I can't understand the fantasy world's fascination with Trent Green.  He has very limited receivers to throw to, and two very capable running backs to hand off to.  I can't see him being any better than the 7th/8th best QB in the league this year.  Vick will be in that fun stage this year where he is hesitant to run, because he wants to be respected as a real QB... but he better run, because he has no throwing accuracy whatsoever.

RB- R. Johnson, C. Portis, R. Brown, M. Moore
Rudi is solid, but not spectacular.  He got a ton of carries last year, but his average wasn't that good.  Now that he has his big contract, I see him really having an off year and losing carries to Perry.  Portis and Brown could go either way, and Moore is still not a starter and really only has value if you also have Bennett.

WR- T. Holt, J. Horn, L. Coles, T. Houshmanzadeh, T. Williamson
I like your WR's, but I hope for your sake you don't have an injury... because Williamson will do next to nothing this year.  The Vikes will be fine at WR with Burleson, Robinson, and Taylor, and Williamson's young and raw.

TE- A. Crumpler, C. Cooley
Not a bad group here.  I'm a fan of your TE's

D- Carolina
They should be good.

K- P. Dawson
The Browns will score very little this year.  Maybe you can find someone else.

People underrate Green.  He threw for 4600 yards and 27 TDs last year, and eclipsed 4000 yards the year before as well.  While I'm not a fan of the Chiefs WRs, he consistently produces a legitimate amount of points.  Vick is more for trade bait/to see if he actually picks up the WCO.

Rudi had nearly 1500 yards last year.  While I'm not in love with the RBs, I think they should be pretty solid.

Thanks for the opinions.
